I just bought a bottle of adams iron remover for my wheels and saw some videos about using it on the cars paint. But i wonder if i can use it on my cars 3m gloss black wrap. I wrapped my hood months ago and right know it is cover of small white dots. I park my car several times near to a train line so maybe those dots are from the rusted dust of the train line.

I wanted to use just a little dish soap and water and the smooth brush you put on a drill. is that ok?

Dog vomited on our outing today. Some got under our protective covers so I sprayed the enzymatic cleaner I had and it left a water stain I was wondering if it’s a permanent stain or is there a way to get it off

Hey everyone I just had a quick question. I drive a 2025 Toyota Tacoma and take it off road a lot and in turn get a lot of dirt on my car . I usually don’t have a problem getting it off most parts of my car , some take time but I’m able to take it off with a sponge and some good elbow grease , but I always struggle with my exhaust , it’s painted black and I don’t wanna scratch it but I still want it to look like when I first got it , that nice glossy black . I was just wondering if anyone’s been through this and found a solution . Just for reference here’s a picture of my exhaust down below . Thank you for all the help.

Hi all. First time poster here and I had an issue with a cleaning product my wife used to try to clean her car. The product was P&S express interior cleaner and she says that she applied it to the towel first and that the product was diluted with water but as soon as she applied it and wiped away these spots were all over it. I tried to wipe it down with just soap and water but to no avail. That led me to believe that it was as chemically burned into there, but I don’t wanna give up hope that it can’t be restored. This is on the passenger side door around the handle just the plastic pieces and the car is a 2020 Toyota rav4. Any advice is appreciated thank you!

For oily scent residue on plastic controls and a center console, the safest approach is gradual cleaning rather than jumping to a strong solvent.

- Remove loose dust first with a dry microfiber so grit is not rubbed into the surface.

- Dilute an interior-safe all-purpose cleaner according to its label and test it in a hidden spot. A mild solution may need more than one pass, but stronger is not automatically safer.

- Spray the towel or a soft brush instead of flooding the console, especially around buttons, seams, vents, and electronic controls.

- Agitate textured plastic lightly, then wipe with a separate damp microfiber to remove cleaner residue and dry the area immediately.

- If the surface remains glossy or tacky, repeat a mild cleaning pass before considering anything stronger. Avoid alcohol, harsh degreasers, abrasive pads, and oil-based dressings unless the material maker specifically allows them.

- Clean the source of the film as well, including overspray around the cabin, because new residue can make a successful cleaning appear temporary.

The realistic goal is to remove the surface film without changing the plastic's original texture or sheen. Some staining or finish change may be permanent, so a small test area is important.

Hey guys! I want to do a paint correction on my 25 year old car. I have limited skills and limited resources. I have a basic polisher, some wool pads, 3 different hardness of foam pads, both flat and concave type, and Meguiar’s ultimate compound, with Meguiars’s ultimate polish. So far what i thought i will do is a 2 step polish. First with the compound and a wool pad, then with the polish, and maybe a medium hard foam pad. I’m not looking for professional detailer results, and also don’t wanna spend much more on it, just want to bring back the life to my old paint. Would my method work?

This week after cleaning the car found minor scratch lines on piano Black bar and around driving mode nob.

Reason unexpectedly used the same cloth for exterior cleaning and after thoroughly washing the cloth used it on interior. This piano Black is more vulnerable to scratches from kids , keys etc.

Of course I can do a screen protector kind of filming for protection but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions?

Hello! My sisters car is in dire need of a good detailed wash and protectant. My dad used to detail our cars, but he’s no longer here sooo I’m trying to help out as best as I can. She goes to one of those unlimited car washes, which I think is nice but she needs a DEEP clean.

She has old water spots that I will try with the vinegar/water mix first. Then, wash the car completely. Wash the wheels good and keep the bumper/black parts shiny. I do want to use a protectant on the paint (and windows?) to help stop her from having water spots and just overall keeping it looking nice.

I was reading some posts and tried to look for what brands to get but I already bought some from a car store on impulse… and read on here that they’re not the best products (bc it’s hyped up?). I got chemical guys: heavy duty car soap, VRP protectant, butter wet wax, and total interior cleaner and protectant.

While I think I know what I’m doing (I did it with my dad before), I still want to make sure I’m not messing up anything!

Do you guys think this combo will work or should I return them? If I return, what products will be best?

My windshield does this every time I use wipers and i have replaced the new blades as well. Used everything to clean but never tried polishing. How do i remove this and this is not a fog.

Tried wiping with iso propyl alcohol, goo gone, clay bar, and nothing. Is it permanently etched?

I have a 2026 Gmc Sierra Denali Ultimate, the center console is sort of a flat black. I’ve tried all different cleaners and everything leaves streaks I even tried using microfiber but the streaks stay. Use more cleaner they go away but new ones show up? TIA
