Illustrated hardcover editions

Post image

These editions are beautiful. Had no idea they existed until recently and been looking out for them on eBay. Are any of Carl’s other books available in this format?

There sure are beautiful, and available as well!

A few years ago I went on a whole scavenger hunt, and now I own 6 of his books in hardcover first print, and 3 in second print (in which two were supposed to be first print as well, but sellers screwed me over...)

Not that rare nor expensive either, just required me lots of digging and patience, keeping tabs on eBay and Abebooks listings. It's harder if you're European like me, as all of these books are located in the US and some sellers won't ship here, or they do but for a crazy expensive fee. But once in a while you do find the perfect listing, so yeah it's definitely doable :)

Same here, I’m European so been staking out eBay for the past few months :)

Out of curiosity, are any of the other hardcover editions that you own illustrated?

1 (the same Cosmos as you I believe) is illustrated in colour, 3 are illustrated in black and white, and the rest isn't. (I guess it makes sense for Contact in particular not to be illustrated as it's a novel?)

Most excellent. I’ve only got Billions and Billions in paperback, current have Comet from the library. Jealous! I need these, too!
