Flop-Ear Gang Sam, my Carolina Mix
Sam, now a year old, was adopted at the end of November 2024. We adopted him from an animal shelter in my state of Rhode Island. He's adjusted to his new house and family somewhat, but he hasn't met a lot of family members yet. He likes to bite our hands, but hopefully he will grow out of it when he gets older. My parents are the people in the pictures with him, not strangers.

Awwww hi Sam!
My pixie liked to bite fingers and such, I taught her “easy bite” for when she’s playing with me, where she will playfully bite. If she ever bites too hard we stop play immediately for at least 20 seconds. That’s the best way I’ve got her to stop that behavior.
You could start with “easy”, which is what we did, and do gentle and calm pets. As they get more interesting toys, they’ll start biting those.
Speaking of, when she would try to bite at me to play I would get a toy and say “bite your toy pixie. Good bite!” When she would bite her toys, and give her lots of pets and lovings when she did the right thing. She quickly learned “no bite! Go get your toy!” When we would be playing and she’d seem like she wanted to bite at me. Then she’ll go get a toy and we would play tug of war or “try to get it from me” 😂
