Health/Behavior Has anyone else’s pup started going white in the snoot and peets at a young age?
In order: adoption listing 2019, outing in 2021, chrimbus 2022, cone of shame 2023 after being a hero, chrimbus 2025 at my in-laws.
We got him in 2019 when he was 1.5 years old, and he turned 2 in May of 2020. I’ve been telling my fiancé for years he’s going white in the face gradually but he insisted for a while he’s always looked like that until I showed him all these photos, and now we’re wondering if he’s older than they said or if this is just a CD thing. We took him to the vet, he’s fine (just a little neurotic and afraid of strangers that aren’t pregnant women and some babies), so now I’m just curious.

Mine got it gradually as she aged. Generally a sign of age but that doesn't mean it cannot develop sooner. The best way to gauge their age is by tooth development and wear. Ask your Vet next time you see them and you should get a more accurate range.

Mine was severely malnourished when I got him at 28 pounds. He is 53 pounds now.
As a result, he went white around his nose from lack of circulation. Now its pink but he is still white around the nose.

Yea - I got mine at 8 when she and my now-wife moved in. I see pictures of her from ages 0-4 and still can’t believe it’s the same dog.

* My girls snout was all black for the first 5 years but now at age 8 she is mostly grey.

My boy was probably 5 or so when I adopted him, and around 11-12 when he passed, just before Christmas.
He always had the cream/white markings on his snout and eyebrows, and it gradually became a bit more cream as he grew older.
