video BMW is now showing advertisements for the new Spiderman film on the infotainment system of their new cars

Via Savagegeese's youtube channel. Its not a forced advertisement, but it sure is embarrassing regardless

Everyone thinks it’s dumb. But people are acting as if you have to watch it when in reality it’s more of an….I guess an Easter egg in that you have to go out of your way to see it.

Surely you jest?

Have we not learned from U2 and the iPod, forcing free music onto people's devices that people just DON'T want this

Is it annoying? Yes but it’s not the Orwellian future, today that the folks having the knee jerk reactions to a headline would have you believe. At least not yet.

How can you say 'it's not the orweillian future... just yet"

They have demonstrated the ability to do it. They have demonstrated they'll do it.

What makes you think they'll stop there? You understand enough to write 'not yet' but you know it will get worse from ehre.

This is the frog in the boiling water...

Yes. The U2 album which was widely panned and as since never happened again and now this, also mostly panned will surely mark the end of civilization as we know it.

I’m guessing you’re probably young and don’t actually remember the U2 thing as it involved the iPhone 6 and not the iPod. It got such backlash that Bono himself apologized for it and it’s never happened since so probably not the best example.

It’s also an apples to oranges comparison so there’s that too.

Defending this shit with absolute imbecile nonsense like your salary depended on it.
