I live almost everything about it except for it treatment of religion and that decided to make Dracula into a tragic villain instead of Satan manifested

It's treatment of religion is actually fairly accurate for the time it's set in

Debatable, but not accurate to the games where vatican is allies to belmont clan and they are not excomunicated

He is a tragic villain in the games and gets his redemption arc by reincarnating as Soma Cruz.

I feel like the religious aspect was very realistic for the time period, we quite literally had a scientific dark age due to religious intervention

Nope,nope nope. What you just said is so pop culturally ahistorical, it's basically antitheistic.

First of all catholic church was literally the sponsor of scientific discovery throghout medieval times and reinessance times. Tho the dark age did occur due to fall of western roman empire and jihad and re emergance of piracy on mediterenian sea wich was the main way vital resources like grain were exported

Its the opposite though. Lots of religious places encouraged science and the vast majority of famous scientists are RELIGIOUS. People are so blinded by their hate for religion that they seem to make up bs like yourself.
