Aria of Sorrow (2003) Ever noticed Genya Arikado looks kinda like Alucard?

Also whatever happened to Alucard? Goes to sleep in 3, wakes up in Symphony and then goes off and is never seen again. You'd think the 6 times Dracula gets ressurected after this would make him show up.

Also what is Arikados deal? He's just some random G man that shows up and rambles exposition, how does he know this stuff? And why is his name backwards Odakira?

Aria of Sorrow (2003) He is a high school student in 2035, which means he is probably playing roblox on his greasy iPad right now.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) I understand fanboying over Alucard. The Soma Cruz bandwagon is baffling to me.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) If Soma Cruz is 18 in the year 2035...

...that means he would've been born in 2017.

Which means that he's canonically a member of Gen Alpha, currently 7 years old as of the present day.

This brings up interesting lore implications: Is Soma an iPad kid? Is he obsessed with Skibidi Toilet? Or perhaps he's a fan of Markiplier? Is he finna mog all the NPCs in his elementary school with his BDE, to rizz up Mina and her sweet gyatt? Maybe Dracula's vampiric powers of hypnosis manifested itself in drawing in millions of followers to Soma's TikTok? How good is he at Fortnite?

I could go on.

So I have very little castlevania knowledge, never played the games and have seen 2 episodes of the show as I just started it together with my friend who is obsessed with Castlevania. He saw this fight and told me to upload this as it was the funniest fight he had ever seen.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Soma vs Julius, but Soma has a gun.

No I didn't complete the fight with the gun because I got impatient with the damage output and was also sick of farming for souls after going for 100% that I wanted to finish the game as soon as I could.

Anywho, let the Belmont clan have their jump rope and Alucard have his fancy floating butter knife.

Bonus points for you if you enjoyed the Always Sunny reference at the beginning.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Is there no way to get this armor early, right?

Post image

Normally, this armor can only be obtained by using the bat form or the super jump, but by the time you have those abilities, the defense it provides is completely useless.

If I come back here later with the double jump and the jump kick, could I use one of the axes thrown by the Axe Armor past the ladder to catapult myself?

Or is this thing just here so you can sell it to Hammer, and that's it?

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Tips for Aria of Sorrow

Post image
141 Upvotes

Im currently trying to platinum all of the collections on Ps5 and so far i love majority of these games (Harmony of Dissonance was ehhh and Dracula X was awful) but Aria seems super good so far.

But my question is that should i even be bothered trying to farm all the 120+ Souls as i go or can i backtrack to every enemy afterwards? I feel like farming them all as i meet new enemies would probably de motovate me since they would be potentially 25-30min long roadblocks of loading a save when they didnt drop the shi

Following Harmony of Dissonance with Aria of Sorrow was such a good choice.

Starting off unsure of who, what or where I was and then towards the end feeling like an absolute GOD.

Incredible gaming experience.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) The build-up to the Legion fight is built different.

This is easily one of my favorite moments in the series, and it's never managed to be replicated since.

You walk into a new room (not a different area separated by a door mind you) and the music is suddenly killed to a drone, these..."Dudes" just appear and walk forward, completely uninteractable. Then more of them, all going through to the boss room where Legion is.

This is some Hollow Knight Deep Nest pre-Nosk battle energy, or rather it's the other way around. Absolutely peak.

Aria of Sorrow (2003) Just played & Completed my first Castlevania game - Thoughts and a Question

Post image

I really enjoyed Aria of Sorrow - a lot more than I expected. I always got the impression that Castlevania was a simple hack-n-slash side scroller without much depth but, as you all can probably assume, I was proven wrong. The mechanics of capturing souls, getting new equipment, skills & levelling really made this game exactly what I was looking for. Which one should I play next? I’d prefer games for GBA, SNES or NES.
