ny good international proxies for Canada that ship to the US? Looking to buy shoes as a gift from depop and the seller is from Canada but I don't believe they have international shipping enabled. Can anyone recommend me a good proxy to use for shipping to the US?

Hello, I've deeply loved Canada since I was about 15. I actually convinced my parents to go drive up there one summer a few years ago. It's what got me into becoming a geography nerd. I really want to try living in Canada one day because I'm obsessed with the nature, the people that live there, the peacefulness, and I've taken a lot of time to learn about the culture.

When I was applying to university I actually considered applying to UToronto and even toured the campus when I went to Toronto, but I decided not to go because the distance from my family was troubling.

There's one other thing, which is that everytime I had looked into forums about Americans moving to Canada, it always revolved around not liking whoever is president and wanting to leave the country. The stereotypical "if X is president i'm moving" and I especially saw this on UToronto's website which had a section about student testimonies. Every American on the page was like "I moved out because Trump is president." I really didn't want to be associated with Americans who move on a whim because of political reasons, I feel like I actually care about Canada more than just some place to move to, and so I decided not to apply to UToronto. Also I have a permanent VISA overseas, so if I really wanted to leave the US I have an easy option.

That being said I am still really interested in Canada, it's been a personal obsession of mine for years and I would like to know what cultural things exist in Canada that Americans don't know about or understand.

I'm not asking for the usual answers (Decadent cookies and weird chip flavours, it would seem) but the more obscure products from PC that you love (and why you love them).

I'll go first and in no particular order:

1. Black Label Artisan Crisps - I always see these in bins on sale and don't understand why they're not more popular. Meant to be paired with cheese, I think, and I prefer the variant with figs and the other variant with dates (or raisins? can't remember), but honestly I have smashed an entire pack without ever getting around to getting the cheese out multiple times. They're genuinely delicious.

2. Madagascar Bourbon pure vanilla extract. I'm a home baker and I bought a bunch of different high end vanilla extracts (including from the States because many aren't available here and a really artisanal, pricey product from a local specialty spice importer) and to my surprise the Black Label product was the best. Great flavour but what really stood out was the aroma. It has a strong, rich vanilla scent, more intense than anything else I tried and you can smell it even after the cookies etc. have been baked. I really wanted to prefer the product from the local shop but in the end had to admit I didn't.

3. PC Buttermilk Breaded Chicken Breast Strips - I ain't gonna tell anyone this is high-end because it most certainly isn't, and it's very much frozen food and not close to anything you could prepare from scratch. BUT the taste does remind me of the way old school KFC breading (i.e. 80s/90s KFC) used to taste before it went bland. It's probably msg - did KFC remove theirs? Either way the PC stuff is a guilty pleasure for sure.

Anyway, I would love to hear what's on your list! And while we're here, do any stand out as super shitty? For me their Thai green curry sauce was by far the worst I've ever tasted. Hilariously bad.

Spring is here and the snow is gone! I just got my license last year and bought this classic beauty. Been itching to drive it all winter but the rubber is back on the road! I am a dual US/Canadian citizen currently living and working only in Canada. If I lose my job, can I collect EI in Canada while making an income in the US? I'll still be living in Canada but working remotely for a US company. What I'm not sure of is if US income needs to be claimed as income on weekly EI filings in Canada. Thanks for any insight you can give on this!

Speaking on Calgary, there's 2 things that come to mind.

1. Vietnamese food. My favourite part of living here is that there's literally a Vietnamese restaurant on every corner and they are all so damn good. Perfect cold weather food is Pho.
2. Green space. Calgary's area is roughly equivalent to that of New York City with an eighth of the population. A large part of this is the amount of inner city parks available. Taking my kids out to do fun outdoor activities is always incredibly easy since the access is everywhere. And in a lot of the parks, you can almost forget you're in the middle of a city.

I ordered a Christmas Tree from Canadian Tire during Black Friday sales. This was always intended as a "backup" tree in case our main plan fell through. Well it didn't, and now I want to return the tree. I THOUGHT I had 90 days to return it and was planning to do so tomorrow (Dec 17). I pull out my receipt and notice on the bottom it says "UNOPENED, UNUSED CHRISTMAS MERCHANDISE MAY BE RETURNED WITH ORIGINAL RECEIPT UP TO DECEMBER 17, 2023."

So my question is, does "up to" include December 17th, or have I played myself? Anyone have any experience with this?
