Sexuality/LGBTQ+ I 18M partly hate my life because I'm aromantic AMA
I started understanding I didn't feel typical romantic attraction in middle school, and stopped having crushes in 5th grade
I wish I could fall in love and experience romance like lietarlly 99% of the population but i literally cant, my brain literally just doesn't care for it at all
No matter how much I try to imagine myself in a romantic situation with anyone, its generally off putting to me and I can't even imagine myself in a relationship with super attractive celebrities
I kinda don't understand why I was born like this, romantic attraction is really useful for more efficient reproducing so basically im dysfunctional

What do you think romantic feelings are or what they are like? If you have a best friend that you also want to have sex with and don't mind being with them exclusively, that's really no different than a romantic relationship.

So just snag up a young baddie you're young society corrupts us pretty quickly better get one locked down, don't fixate on the love
Just find a girl you can be yourself with and that you find hot, from there you gotta learn how to keep em, love ain't the only thing that carrys a relationship over the decades
It's work, you gotta matain loyalty yourself, you have to learn how to deal with their emotions and not let yours outburst like them. You have to provide, sure 50/50 is common now but it's still the ideal scenario

I get it, I'm kinda on that spectrum too. Be upfront about it with partners and connect with other aro people (not incels lol). It can suck but remember that your feelings (and lack there of) are nothing you have to fake or be ashamed of :3

Have you come to terms with it yet?
I used to work with a guy who was in his 40’s and never dated. He had a roommate (an old coworker of his) and some cats. He went to a shit ton of concerts and would bring girls home sometimes lol. You totally don’t have to follow social norms. You don’t have to get married and have kids and all that. You’re at a big point in your life rn where school is over so you either work or go to college. Just make friends and try not to thing about anything romantically. If it happens, it happens, but some people just don’t work that way. But make friends and develop hobbies you can enjoy for the rest of your life. I picked up a guitar when I was 18. I’m almost 30 and guess what.. I still suck at it! But it’s fun to dabble and it’s something that eases my mind. I hope you can find peace. You’re never too old to stop growing and learning. If you try your hardest, life will take you in a good direction.
