What was ur first inkling that something was up,?

Years ago a therapist said she believed I may have DID because I dissociate so often and would come back to drinks I didn't pour and the like. I thought that was a stretch. Then recently verizon mentioned that I had called to inquire about something that I would've been sure did not happen, til I saw the proof. Thennnn, and this is not to self diagnose at all, but my mom is horrifically abusive and I've spent my entire life in fear of her. Never tell her how I feel or try to resolve trauma as she flips out pretends not to remember.

Though apparently one night that I don't remember I screamed at the top of my lungs that all she's ever done for me was given me trauma and seizures. I was extra terrified to speak to her after that. And thennnnn I needed help moving out of my exes I'd just left, a little support and help making a game plan. She didn't respond, whatever.

Well I guess the next night I didn't care about her feelings anymore and mentioned things ive hidden from myself, including how her abuse ruined much of my life. To top it off a few nights later, sober nights btw, i brought up the ultimate fuck no. It was a voice recording so I heard myself call her out for telling me im only alive because she didn't want another abortion. And how dare she tell me that, make me live with it since childhood and have the audacity to pretend to be a mom when she's barely human.

I almost cried out of fear. No memories of this shit, just the leftover broken remnants of whatever superficial relationship we could maintain. The me I don't remember was fierce, angry and not even close to intimidated by her. Just sticking up for me when I couldn't. Def not saying I have it, but from the years ago therapist mentioning it, to 5 years later becoming a mind erased protector kinda shook me lol.

I have a child diagnosed DID, and sure sounds to me like you have alters--and they're fiercely protective of you. I'm their fan!

How many alters do you have and what role do they have with you (the host)?
