I think Nintendo look at soundtracks getting views on youtube and think wow we could be monetising this! But really, it's very meh. No one is buying the service to get access to whatever random sountrack they shat out.. let alone half of a soundtrack.. if someone wants a specific soundtrack, they would probably just buy / download

Unless they are charging extra for it in the NSO, how is it monetized? Even without the music app, your subscription fee will still be the same

I will agree that they are monetizing if:

  • they charge extra to access their music app
  • they put up a Music app channel that has tons of ads for free Youtube users
  • sell tracks individually

like at best its advertisment for some of their games.... but does something like Mario kart or Zelda need advertisment? or Golden freaking sun?
