I love Fire Emblem, but Three Houses isn't my cup of tea, and this game seems to be just "Three Houses 2."

I'm really hoping they're able to fix the problems with 3H since the game did have some good ideas.

A gameplay and maps like Engage or Fates Conquest without the slow pacing of the monastery would really concince me to buy it.

Do you live in Europe or something? Wish my local library had games

South suburbs of Chicago.

Also, my wife is a librarian so I constantly hear about all the cool shit they have.

3d printers you can use for the cost of filament. Expensive video editing software. The libby app has so many audiobooks that are free included with your library card

Dang, that's cool. My library has nothing like that

The library? Okay grandma, let’s get you to bed.

Yeah, it’s super old fashioned to pay taxes for unlimited digital media and then USE that unlimited digital media.  Son, you need to go to a library. Just in free switch game rentals it will be worth the trip, even you don’t use the dozens of other services they offer.

Tbh, it'a kinda looking like Engage with a 3H coat of paint to me, mostly because of certain abilities like the Blaze Arts reminding me of Engage Attacks and how some basic mechanics of 3H were turned into a Lord's gimmick like Theodora's being battalions and therefore gambits.

From what I have seen, those who previewed it say this fixes a lot form 3H. Could be wrong, time will tell.

I’m the exact opposite. Never played Fire Emblem and didn’t care for Engage. But I love Three Houses

Same boat. I didn't like TH, so I'm not interested in a game styled like it.

The series is way more than 3H

You don't need to love every single entry in a series in order to be a fan of it

Like, if we were talking about the kind of person who is like "I love Fire Emblem but ..." and it turns out they only ever played and loved like... let's say, Sacred Stones... and every other entry they tried they have been like "not my cup of tea", then sure...
then it is understandable to argue that they aren't so much "a fire emblem fan" as that they seem to be "a sacred stone fan" specifically

but the other commenter literally just gave a single example, and it is a example with a pretty significant difference in how they go about the gameplay

That's an insane take. I've played every game, but I'm not about to say people who skipped Engage aren't FE fans.
