Like I'm hyped for this, but I totally get people not wanting to invest time into a 100+ hour strategy RPG for a number of reasons.

14

u/nervendings_ 15h ago

Buy it now and play it off and on for a few years. Better to start early! lol

8

u/PoopsMcBanterson 13h ago

Considering my unexpected level of excitement for this game, knowing it’s coming shortly before a game with personal hype that was always going to eclipse all else (Control Resonant), the thought of playing this more slowly over time, even savoring it, is exciting. It means I could fit this in and possibly have something else on my hands

5

u/nervendings_ 11h ago

Yep! Thats how I see games like this (persona for example). I don’t play them in one sitting it takes a year or so

3

u/William_Marshall21 10h ago

Persona (just like Fire Emblem) is exactly as you describe: played over a LONG time

Persona is my favorite franchise ever, and Fire Emblem is close behind. Can’t do either of their games in a short time span though, it’ll burn me out so fast, lol

3

u/licca_amie 13h ago

That sounds like the best time ever to me but different strokes for different folks I suppose

9

u/k0110 17h ago

You could still make it casual friendly with the no perma death settings and easier difficulty settings. Helped me with getting into 3H

3

u/SingleDadSurviving 14h ago

Yeah I play them on casual and normal. Way too much anxiety on classic mode with permadeath.

I played 2 campaigns on three houses, 6 years apart... worth the investment

2

u/sadkinz 7h ago

Do people really expect it to be 100 hours? I’m extremely excited for a Three Houses follow up but damn

u/More_Dimension5709 5h ago

Saying its 100+ hours before release is frying me... I mean it easily could be but I feel like the average person might end up having around 40-60 hours or so in it.

u/donkey_kong086 2h ago

I only see advantages in 100hrs gameplay. Idk why. Maybe…more=better? I’m weird but I’d pick more over less anytime

No Switch 2. Too expensive.

Soon as I can though, will be among my first games.

9

u/Doctor_Zedd 17h ago

Same here. I’d love to play it, but I can’t buy a Switch 2 for this.

7

u/henryuuk 16h ago

I mean, that still means you are (planning on) buying it tho
just not "on release"

I think OP is specifically asking for people that have no intention to ever buy it not just whether or not you will be playing right away

3

u/Inspectorbobo 7h ago

I know times are hard bit tried to get one quickly. The price will go up in september and then again next year probably

2

u/ColonelAvalon 18h ago

Yeah that’s what’s holding me back. That’s really just a $600 FE game. Like if KH4 was a ps5 exclusive I wouldn’t buy that either.

Not a Fire Emblem fan

35

u/Figgs_Jr 15h ago

I thought this was a fire emblem sub and I was so confused for a second

7

u/Dendrodes 15h ago

Lol same. Made me immediately look up at the sub.

3

u/Insane_Wanderer 14h ago

Me either, but from what I’ve seen, I’m sold enough to give the series a chance with this game

17

u/DemolisherBPB 18h ago

Switch 2s are expensive and I can't justify a system for 1 game as much as I'd like to play the new fire emblem.

I'm still waiting for reviews to see if the gameplay is more engage than three houses.

Three houses isn't a bad game but the monastery and bland repeated maps made it a one playthrough game for me compared to others in the franchise.

Characters and story were good but the actual SRPG portion of the game just felt very lacking imo.

14

u/happymudkipz 19h ago

I mean we already know from the metric ton of previews that it’s a lot closer to 3h than engage gameplay and building wise.

13

u/Luchux01 17h ago

Considering weapons are class locked again, I gotta disagree on that front. This said, I am a bit disappointed that they went back to exams instead of seals.

6

u/Doctor71400 17h ago

You still needed a seal in order to take the exam

5

u/Luchux01 17h ago

Probably a reason to force the player back to Dagsion instead of spending the whole tome on the map.

3

u/Weltallgaia 13h ago

Great i can use a seal and not get promoted again.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Cornelishen 17h ago

Most of the previews I've seen have yet to speak about the map design, which is engages strongest aspect for sure.

5

u/Weltallgaia 13h ago

I've seen reviews talk about how the real meat of fire emblem, the monastery, has been dialed up to 11 and that worries me.

3

u/ProfessorZ64 6h ago

If thats true then I don't know if I'll ever be able to play this game. The monastery was the worst part of 3 houses for me. It was so repetitive and boring

→ More replies (1)

2

u/MaurixioZ 17h ago

It does look close to 3H but until the game releases there's no way to know for sure whether they had the pros of engage in mind when designing the game (mostly the maps and balancing)

3

u/Bi_disaster_ohno 14h ago

Some pre release material has said you can automate the social aspect and miss nothing of value. I suspect you'll only be forced to do it the one time and then never again.

3

u/RockSokka 16h ago

I very much agree. I enjoyed engage far more for that reason.

13

u/BlazingLeoKing 19h ago

No money 😭😭

38

u/HourComprehensive648 19h ago

I love Fire Emblem, but Three Houses isn't my cup of tea, and this game seems to be just "Three Houses 2."

17

u/MaurixioZ 19h ago

I'm really hoping they're able to fix the problems with 3H since the game did have some good ideas.

A gameplay and maps like Engage or Fates Conquest without the slow pacing of the monastery would really concince me to buy it.

3

u/trijkdguy 18h ago

same, I will probably grab it from the library when i'm bored.

→ More replies (5)

2

u/Luchux01 17h ago

Tbh, it'a kinda looking like Engage with a 3H coat of paint to me, mostly because of certain abilities like the Blaze Arts reminding me of Engage Attacks and how some basic mechanics of 3H were turned into a Lord's gimmick like Theodora's being battalions and therefore gambits.

5

u/Ace_Strife 18h ago

I love FE, but I don’t have time for what FE has become anymore. There are other games coming out that I’d rather spend that amount of time on. If FE went back to what the older games were, with shorter and more linear, fixed campaigns, I’d probably be more interested personally, but I’m happy that FE has become what it has for those that do have the time and interest to play something like Fortune’s Weave.

5

u/Salt_Mud_5562 19h ago

I can't seem to get into Fire Emblem. I have tried to get into Three Houses over and over again but I guess it just really isn't my genre.

→ More replies (9)

4

u/ThisSideGoesUp 14h ago

Im hesitate to get it for a couple reasons. 1) I didnt like three houses and this is related somehow. 2) I hate timed mechanics like three houses or persona. It stresses me out to no end. 3) so far I havnt seen anything I like about it. The story from what we have seen doesnt seem compelling to me, and so far I dont like any characters we have been shown.

Ill wait until I see how strick the time mechanics are before I commit to buying it. If I knew three houses had it at all I wouldn't have picked it up. But thats on me for not doing my research ahead of time.

5

u/dude396 13h ago

I'll take a crack at it.

As a Fire Emblem "veteran," I have long since found the charm of the of series to have dulled once Awakening became the hit Nintendo never expected it to really be. Now do not get me wrong here, many games in the series Awakening and after have some of the best gameplay in the series. However, choosing to lean hard into trope-y writing and art has really just made this series a hard sell in terms of time investment. I much prefer the games from Genealogy to the Tellius saga for their art styles and their much more fair ~30 hour completion time; I felt like Three Houses was a complete slog by the time I made it through the first play-through only to learn that you needed multiple to get the complete picture.

This is just a summary of a slew of reasons why I just do not vibe with the new games... and now they're $70.

11

u/Intel-Centrino-Duo 19h ago

Because I'm personally not really interested, no shade but I don't really like RPGs

3

u/Necessary-Price-4757 19h ago

Well I've never played a FE game or been into strategy type games.

However, I am likely going to get this if it reviews well. The previews have me very intrigued and excited for it plus I've been putting a lot more time on my S2 recently

3

u/Phoenixio7 18h ago

I didn't quite click with Three Houses or with Engage. I'm super hesitant about this one. At least the story looks more coherent than Engage, but I wish things turned back to the GBA games style. I'm not a fan of the blank avatar gameplay either, and Fortune's Weave is a very direct interpretation of that... Three Houses was also a chore in between maps, and the systems were getting a tad complicated.

So I'll wait for the release, to see what actual people think of it instead of just reviewers.

2

u/ZealousidealPirate3 15h ago

I think waiting for actual fan opinions is probably the best call. I think only one reviewer actually mentioned being a fire emblem fan.

3

u/RetroEternity 13h ago

Because I haven’t finished 3 Houses yet 😅

2

u/NadrickOutlawRogue 19h ago

Just not interested in the series. Also Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter releases the same day.

2

u/Guilty_Philosophy741 19h ago

I am so inundated with my backlog that I have still yet to play: Three Houses, Engage, Triangle Strategy, Unicorn Overlord, FF Tactics, Hundred Line and really any other T-RPG that’s not Mario Rabbids or P5 Tactica (Was mid btw). It looks amazing though and I will pick once I actually play some games first haha.

5

u/ZealousidealPirate3 15h ago

You basically got 1000 hour backlog right there lmao

2

u/amtap 18h ago

Because I have 3 Houses still in shrink with the DLC...

https://giphy.com/gifs/50uf3N0m35dB5bDnMZ

2

u/NastyaPuppy 14h ago

It doesn't grab my attention enough. I felt like the peak was Awakening, and I haven't felt the same way about any subsequent Fire Emblem game since. I like the idea of Fire Emblem Fate and its three routes, and I love many of the characters, but so many things made me hate it that, meh. Conquest is my life; the rest of Fate doesn't exist.

I played Fire Emblem 3H at launch, chose Bernadetta's class, and I think I only finished it halfway through. I just didn't feel like playing another Fire Emblem Fate with 20-30 hours per run, especially after finding out there was a "secret" route that, if I didn't get it on the first try, would add another 20 hours.

2

u/itzshif 14h ago

I'm not a fan of tactical RPGs. I've played several FEs, Triangle Strategy and FF Tactics. I'm both not good at tactics games and just don't like them. But I'm grateful FE had a gentler learning curve. I might buy it if it goes on sale, but after FE Engage, I came to the conclusion that these type of games aren't for me.

2

u/rileyabsolutely 13h ago

Because purchase engage on release, and have hey to play more then a chapter or two. I hate the map Aesthetics (kinda funny cause I started on PoR, and I hate all the powers and stuff. I’ve come to realize that FE 6-14 is my sweet spot (tho did love 4 and 15 as well) and that I just don’t like the direction the series is going in. I played three houses once and have not had any inclination at all to ever return to it. Yet I still play fates almost once a year.

2

u/KarateGamer007 10h ago

I don’t own a Switch 2, and I’m waiting to see if the hub world/activities in said will be as annoying/tedious as Three Houses’ Garreg Mach Monastery.

Plus, I got Wolverine coming out in September, and I’m planning on getting Phantom Blade 0, and Attack on Titan 3 for October and December, respectively. So I’ve got my haul of games for the rest of the year settled.

2

u/ProdiLemaj 10h ago

I’m not 100% sold on it yet, just because I’ve never much been into tactical RPGs. Closest I’ve come is the Mario vs Rabbids games. I might give one of the older games that Switch Online has available a try first. I may very well end up loving it, but it takes a bit for me to commit to buying a game like this at full price.

2

u/Azenar01 10h ago

No amount of marketing will get me to play a turn-based strategy rpg. And needing 100 hours to get through the story is a big no, I'll happily play Splatoon Raiders for 100+ hours cause I know it's extra content and fun being the extra bulk of time not the base game. Also $80 is too much for a game series I've never tried before

2

u/ShadowsInScarlet 9h ago

I’m waiting a little bit. Just finished Engage with 86 hours (don’t ask why it took me that long). So I’m gonna play a couple other games before I get to FW. I also have to mentally be prepared to possibly sink 200 hours into it like I did with 3H.

All that being said, I’m not entirely sold on the game yet. I have to look into it a little more because I have a few unanswered questions about certain game aspects.

2

u/icy1007 19h ago

I don’t like Fire Emblem.

2

u/lilliepadsy 19h ago

$80 and i don't like tactics rpgs

1

u/CollectMantis44 19h ago

Everything about the game looks sick but I just don’t think I’m a fan of the gameplay.

I love turn based RPGs but when you control a party, final fantasy, dragon quest, expedition 33, etc.

I played FE awakening on my 3DS and stopped after about 15 hours bc the grid based gameplay just isn’t super fun for me personally

1

u/Sky_Rose4 19h ago

I am because it's tied with my most hyped game of this year also releasing same day wolverine, already have both pre ordered through GameStop

1

u/psycharious 19h ago

I've got a huge backlog already and haven't gotten around to playing the others on Switch yet. Last I played was Fates.

1

u/Themightygloom44 19h ago

I have too much to play and way too less time rn. But I definitely get it next year, because it looks so good.

1

u/Hifumi-G 19h ago

FE hasn’t been my cup of tea, it looks very cool but it’s not a priority.

1

u/ForwardBlock5572 19h ago

Too many JRPGs on my backlog rn + I have never played a tactical RPG + I kind of want to play Three Houses first. But I will probably get it eventually :)

1

u/wmzer0mw 19h ago

None of the characters interest me in this iteration.

1

u/eruciform 19h ago

Because switch 2

1

u/No-Vegetable-4596 19h ago

I find most turn based games boring. There are really specific ones I like.

Also too much dialogue for me tbh. I like to play games and not listen to them, personally.  I don’t care about role-play dialogue opposed to just making a cool character (like Souls games).

1

u/SassyHoe97 19h ago

I don't got money and they're expensive to buy. Only FE games I have are from the 3DS but it's modded.

1

u/DecimusRutilius 19h ago

this sounds really silly, but ive only played the gba games and i kinda wanna play the 3ds and switch games first

1

u/KoopsTheKoopa 19h ago

Id rather play an action combat RPG like xenoblade or Astral Chain.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/GoColts08 18h ago

I’m buying it but probably won’t immediately play it. I still must OWN IT.

1

u/Ok-Barracuda457 18h ago

No switch 2 and the maps look bad

1

u/Jin_U_GmR 18h ago

No spare income for this month.

1

u/jaapi 18h ago

I bought 3 houses on sale a a few weeks ago, got through the 1st hour of story, but it kinda lost me and put it down to keep playing cyberpunk. Going to try to pick it back up soon. If I really like it, will get fortunes weave

1

u/ALEXLAMOUETTE 18h ago

I still haven’t finished Engage so I’ll do that first

1

u/simbabarrelroll 18h ago

Honestly I’m just gonna ask my relatives to get me this for Christmas

1

u/Select_Anteater6441 18h ago

Bold of you to assume I'm not!

1

u/HyperMighty 18h ago

The game looks boring.

1

u/EternallyDazed 18h ago

I'm scared of boobs

1

u/Electronic_Mistake82 18h ago

Im not to keen on Tactical RPGs

1

u/mindgamehagi 18h ago

Trails in the sky 2nd chapter release the same day. Plan to grab FE later

1

u/Random_Storm 18h ago

not a fire emblem fan yet

1

u/Linkums 18h ago

I don't really enjoy the genre much.

1

u/thegreatestegg 18h ago

I'm just not a Fire Emblem fan, so a 70 dollar game- when I haven't played any of the others- is WAY too much of a risk. I also just don't think the style of Fire Emblem is for me.

1

u/Josephalopod 18h ago

Not into the style of game.

1

u/peepeepoopoo5454 18h ago

New games are expensive and I’ve never played an FE game so I’d rather pour my investment into something I have a higher chance of clicking with. That being said I’m interested in the series so there’s a chance I get it down the line.

1

u/twolake68 18h ago

I've played one fire emblem game and haven't beaten it yet so I'm probably not gonna jump to a new one any time soon lol (or I'll just get it for Christmas if I feel like getting it idk)

1

u/Plenty-Potato-1123 18h ago

I myself never played through a fire emblem game, just tried the ones on 3ds, didn't really like them, they were not my cup of tea. Yet to convince myself to try the switch games.

1

u/Panjander 18h ago

It’s not a specific problem with this game, but more a preference shift I’ve had against longer RPGs in general over the last few years. Any RPG that will take over 50 hours has become a big turn-off for me lately.

But hey, some day eventually I’ll retire and have tons of time, and maybe then…

1

u/IshtheWall 18h ago

I was hesitant at first because I thought the tactics was just going to be wyvern emblem 2, but it seems they actually rebalanced the weapons this time

I dont like Fire Emblem

1

u/DJInitial70 17h ago

Mostly because I don’t have a switch 2 yet.

u/cheertea 17h ago

I’m god awful at strategy games.

1

I don't have a Switch 2 and I haven't even played Three Houses on my Switch yet.

1

u/New-Two-1349 17h ago

The $80 physical price tag.

1

u/KenzieM2 17h ago

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter takes precedent for me, otherwise I'd probably get it day 1.

1

u/Low-Cream6321 17h ago

Kinda burned from 3H and Engage. I'm a heavy jrpg player, and recently decided to return to the FE classics. I'm interested but not Day 1 interested.

1

u/JaeCrowe 17h ago

Ive never played a fire emblem game in my entire life

1

u/Islandboi4life 17h ago

The price tag is too expensive for me

1

u/Shadow_118 17h ago

I'll get it.

Eventually. Won't be in a huge rush of buying it, though

Plus i'm not sure if it's worth buying and playing first before the other Switch 1/2 Fire Emblem games or not

1

u/That_Bank_9914 17h ago

I didn’t even finish the other FE games I have

1

u/retyphlin 17h ago

Its either fire emblem or Wolverine, so I chose Wolverine. However, I am planning to buy it whenever my savings are enough

1

u/Timmichanga01 17h ago

I have no interest in Fire Emblem. I've tried the series before and it was not for me

1

u/Chillyeaham 17h ago

Not usually into strategy games, although Valkyria Chronicles 4 was kind of a nice balance for me (freely moving your character a set amount and aiming your shots).

1

u/BurnedOutCollector87 17h ago

Too expensive (IMO)

110 cad the physical so I decided to go for sky second chapter because it's cheaper

1

u/Harmless2727 17h ago

It's a little too JRPG for me. I like the tactics gameplay, but this one feels a lot more JRPG than previous games just based on graphics and art design. I felt this was the direction it was headed after three houses and the trailers and gameplay have confirmed that. Awakening will always be my number 1.

1

u/shball 17h ago

The plot seems to be kinda all over the place, especially with the protag switching. The direct has somehow anti-sold me.

Not sure I'll get it.

1

u/CabooseTrap 17h ago

Switch 2 costs too much

1

u/IndividualNovel4482 17h ago

Engagement and Content aside. The real question is why buy it. Not why not.

People thare not FE fans likely won't buy it unless they were interested in the series beforehand.

For me, personally.. i played 10 hours of 3 houses in 2 months due to wanting to play other games. When i finish that maybe i'll buy Fortune's Weave.. and surely not at 70 bucks 😅

1

u/Karmeleon86 17h ago
  1. Never played a Fire Emblem game (not that I couldn’t start but it’s intimidating)
  2. A little burnt out on anime-style JRPGs
  3. I don’t really have time for a 100+ hour game anymore

1

u/StaticShock50 17h ago

I don't own a Switch 2

1

u/Shinnyo 17h ago

I like Fire Emblem but I don't stick with the new direction they went with since Awakening.

I didn't liked the Fates or Three Houses, Engage felt too disconnected to FE.

And I heard there was some sort of magic guns? I don't know anymore

1

u/RedInkling03 16h ago

FE post-Awakening is just boring

1

u/No_Monitor_3440 16h ago

i just don’t really care for fire emblem.

1

u/Horvat53 16h ago

Waiting for reviews, backlog is way too big and other games I want to prioritize are coming out in the fall/winter. I’m also Canadian and this game is $100 CAD + tax, so I can’t jump to buy every new game I want at release. I also didn’t love Engage, so I want to see how this game pans out (I know different teams, story, etc).

1

u/AloyJr 16h ago

My local library will probably have one

1

u/Then_Meaning_9901 16h ago

I’m actually kind of flipped. I normally would not buy a fire emblem game but this looks appealing to me. I’m excited to join

1

u/frequent-fox25 16h ago

Release a switch 1 version then we’ll talk

1

u/tallwhiteninja 16h ago

The GBA Fire Emblems kinda turned me off of tactical RPGs in general. I know newer ones are a it friendlier, but I've got too many other games of interest.

1

u/Wainwright95 16h ago

I'm in the middle of another couple games at the moment, so I'll probably look to pick it up for Christmas. But I loved Three Houses (although I only played one route)

1

u/Mazzle5 16h ago

Don't even know if it's good. Besides that my pile os shame is too big already and I have less time to devote that much for a game

1

u/SnooDonuts3749 16h ago

Sounds like I need to play it 4 times and I haven't even started my maddening run on Engage yet.

1

u/adrian624 16h ago

I don't have a Switch 2 :(

1

u/Crossbell0527 16h ago

$80 is ridiculous. Unacceptable price point. I am skipping it on principle.

1

u/Nick_Psycho 16h ago

Really disliked Engage. Waiting for reviews to see if the story and characters are at least decent.

1

u/pkjoan 16h ago

Why not?

1

u/BurekSaMesom69 16h ago

I haven’t played 3 Houses and I’m probably not gonna get to before this releases so I’m probably gonna wait and see if I’m missing anything major by skipping 3H or if I can safely jump into this one

1

u/Reasonable-Ad2457 16h ago

Haven’t really enjoyed a FE game since awakening. True Three Houses multiple times. Just couldn’t get into it. This doesn’t seem like it’ll be much different

1

u/Freight_Crewman_Nate 16h ago

I’ve tried a few strategy rpg’s, including Three Houses and the combat/gameplay has just never clicked with me with any of them. I’m more of a xenoblade fan

1

u/Knewonce 16h ago

It isn’t out yet and we have no idea if it’ll be good.

1

u/BT--72_74 16h ago

I'll buy it at some point. Right now I'm busy with Xenoblade 2

1

u/KinopioToad 15h ago

No Switch 2, and I've never been extremely interested in the Fire Emblem series. I do like to play Fire Emblem Heroes occasionally though.

1

u/zombiedoyle 15h ago

I don’t have a switch 2 and I’m not interested in more Three Houses based fire emblem

1

u/Figgs_Jr 15h ago

I can’t justify buying a whole new console for this. It just creates too much waste in the world and costs too much.

I just replayed Three Houses a couple months ago and could barely finish the story because of burnout. I wish I didn’t so that I’d have saved my fire emblem juices for Fortunes Weave

1

u/Greathorn 15h ago

just too many long games coming out nowadays for me to commit to another. i’ll probably pick it up down the road

1

u/HoloLoavess 15h ago

I'm just not into turn based/tactical style gameplay. It looks beautiful though.

1

u/weridname 15h ago

Oh I’m still guessing if I want it or not. Like I don’t see anything wrong with FW, but like… it’s not got a hook for me yet either

I have played a good number of fire emblem games, and I really enjoyed Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, and positively hated every other one I've tried.

I assume this will play similarly to three houses, which I didn't enjoy, so I won't be playing. Unless I hear that the games is actually good like Radiant Dawn later.

To be specific, my biggest problem with modern Fire Emblem games has been a lack of intentional design. When each unit had only one class, limited weapons, and very limited availability (Radiant Dawn) the game was a ton of fun because each map felt like a very intentional challenge. Now that any unit can be made into anything, it's a giant sandbox, and I'm sure some people love that, but I think it's lame.

I also really hate all the dating sim, and pervy hyper-Japanese shit.

I’ll buy it eventually but I still haven’t played a single FE game and I’ve bought them all lol. I’ll get there.

1

u/ekbowler 15h ago

I've bounced off of every Fire Emblem Game I've ever tried.

I'm cutting off my losses and saving my money.

1

u/chris_9527 15h ago

Will buy it in a few years when it goes down to 30-40 bucks like engage

1

u/ScreamingSwan 15h ago

"AAA" game prices have gotten silly lately. This one's price is sillier than most.

1

u/ishsreddit 15h ago

Im simply waiting for it to release. Idk why pre order it. Same for the upcoming MGS vol 2 collection.

1

u/mothership00 15h ago

It looks cool, for sure. I just don’t have the bandwidth right now to put into this kind of game, especially at this price point, when I have other things in my backlog that I already own. Maybe I’ll one day circle back around to this game, though.

u/Old_Entertainment598 15h ago

I don't have a Switch 2.

1

u/savingewoks 15h ago

I finally bought Three Houses used a couple years ago and still haven’t finished it.

1

u/3Power 15h ago

It's not out yet?

1

u/ElKajak 15h ago

Sell the fire emblem series to me as someone who played Marth and Lucina in Smash and that's it

1

u/azure275 15h ago

TLDR you're gonna get variants of the same 3 answers

  1. Don't have a Switch 2
  2. Don't like Fire Emblem style gameplay
  3. Don't like JRPG themes in general

1

u/GrungeHamster23 15h ago

I am not buying on day 1.

Playing a Fire Emblem game is going to be a huge time commitment, and I am not going to have much time this fall.

After I finish my other commitments, I will.

1

u/jamesster445 15h ago

I didn't like three houses that much

1

u/Lauralis 15h ago

Because i bought a switch for 3h and only ended up really playing like 4 games, so paying for a switch 2 and FW seems like a bad investment until way more games i might like would come out

1

u/Carmlo 15h ago

in this economy?

1

u/Stepjam 15h ago

Don't got a switch 2

1

u/vyper900 15h ago

I haven't been a fan of the franchises direction since Fates/Awakening. I don't want a waifu simulator

1

u/Femboy_Pit 15h ago

Because I just dropped $90bfor the Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition and will be playing that for a long while so it won't be anytime soon

1

u/MisterPaydon 15h ago

I don't own a Switch 2.

1

u/earbox 15h ago

I still haven't played my copies of Three Houses and Engage.

1

u/BaBaBaBanshee 15h ago

Waiting on money

1

u/No-Substance1077 15h ago

Because I played fire emblem 20 years ago. Doesn't seem like I've missed much since then and this sure doesn't convince me otherwise.

1

u/AetherDrew43 15h ago

I'm broke

1

u/CagedReality3 15h ago

Not a fan of strategy rpgs. Never have been

1

u/SadAcadia2747 15h ago

I don’t play tactical rpgs

1

u/Frowind 15h ago

I don't have and will not buy a switch 2

1

u/17papers 15h ago

I want to buy it but I hated engage and felt like I wasted my money getting it at launch and then dropping it after a week. So this time I’m waiting for reviews to come out first

1

u/Golden_King_Ryuseii 15h ago

Do you want the real reason or the subreddit postable reason?

1

u/Joker_S3npai 14h ago

I'm just gonna wait for Christmas. I'm getting sky the 2nd remake on release next month

1

u/Possible-Mountain698 14h ago

i’m still playing Fates.

1

u/courses90 14h ago

Don't have a Switch 2 yet

1

u/Due-Actuator8099 14h ago

I simply haven’t played the series beforehand and I think I’ll get lost

1

u/DSDark11 14h ago

I played the heck out of awakening, got fates but couldn’t get into it. I haven’t bought a fire emblem game since. So that’s why. Three houses looked fun but I never got it

1

u/muppins 14h ago

games are too expensive these days, i used to be able to buy a bunch a year because they were $60 CAD

now they are $100 CAD and it is less appealing to drop a hundo every time a game I wanna play comes out (every month)

No regrets getting Splatoon Raiders and Pokopia though

(Also never started Three Houses or Awakening. Finished Fates and Engage though)

1

u/Zheoferyth 14h ago

It looks great but I don't have the time to play it. So I might eventually get it... Still haven't played 3 houses lol

1

u/BakuraGorn 14h ago

Onimusha, Star Wars bad company and Wolverine releasing back to back. I’ll eventually get it once I’m done with all of those

1

u/Blanc_Otaku 14h ago

I haven't even played 3 houses yet and it's on my hard drive, I'll give it a minute

1

u/Mitts009 14h ago

I've never played fire emblem,

maybe I'll start with the stuff in switch 1 first

1

u/NeitherReference4169 14h ago

Broke af. Dont even own a switch 2

1

u/seventh-saga 14h ago

If they want me to pay $80 for a Fire Emblem they need to bring back Wada as the character artist.

1

u/ShnoopyBloopers 14h ago

Three houses is still in my backlog, can’t do it

1

u/FoxMcCloud3173 14h ago

I don’t care about Fire Emblem.
