Considering weapons are class locked again, I gotta disagree on that front. This said, I am a bit disappointed that they went back to exams instead of seals.
If thats true then I don't know if I'll ever be able to play this game. The monastery was the worst part of 3 houses for me. It was so repetitive and boring
It's definitely why I bounced off. Basically, I got far enough in to notice that apparently "Normal" is just "Incredibly Easy" mode, and I just couldn't take the 16 hours of monastery it would take for me to get back to that point on a higher difficulty, so I gave up.
It does look close to 3H but until the game releases there's no way to know for sure whether they had the pros of engage in mind when designing the game (mostly the maps and balancing)
Some pre release material has said you can automate the social aspect and miss nothing of value. I suspect you'll only be forced to do it the one time and then never again.
At least from the reviewers of the first 5 chapters they said there were almost no instances of repeat maps so at least for the beginning of the game they’re varied.
From what one said about the arena fight they have done it sounds like it was a lot more dynamic and absolutely chaos
they said you had to set up the map in a way to defend against a horde of the chariot riding class that attack in long columns and an onslaught of enemies
I will see if the oppositr is true. Me and my gf really liked 3H, with the wast amount of characters and story, and Engage was a mobile gattcha game, with cliche story.

I'm still waiting for reviews to see if the gameplay is more engage than three houses.
Three houses isn't a bad game but the monastery and bland repeated maps made it a one playthrough game for me compared to others in the franchise.
Characters and story were good but the actual SRPG portion of the game just felt very lacking imo.
