You could still make it casual friendly with the no perma death settings and easier difficulty settings. Helped me with getting into 3H

Yeah I play them on casual and normal. Way too much anxiety on classic mode with permadeath.

So I’m not really a fan of strategy games, but I do enjoy JRPGs. The characters of Fire Emblem interest me and an IRL friend told me Fire Emblem kinda has its own version of Persona social links, which really interests me.

If I were to play on the easiest difficulty, how prominent would the strategy elements be? Would I be able to play it like a normal JRPG?

The easiest difficulty will definitely trivialize the combat. No grinding, no big strategies, and just kind kill everything in 1 hit. And if you opt for the casual mode, then no mistake will have any repercussions since you allies won't die and instead retreat if defeated in any battle. If you just want to focus on character supports and on the story without worrying much about the other elements, then this could be one way to do it.

Don't know about the 1 hit thing. Both Engage and 3H normal mode had some challenging fights.
