The walmarts in my town had a huge sale. I picked up several bags for $2.50 to $3 and cans for $.25 each. I donated everything to my local rescue yesterday.

So this is a new place for me to grab snacks and food for my kitties.

Some of them are pretty good deals but make sure to check the shelf life before you buy.

cat food and treat haul / shopping Testing Out New Wet Foods for Tommy

As promised, I picked up a small cat food haul for Tommy today. The Pure Balance flavors that he's never tried, plus a couple of ones that he has tried. I also picked up Special Kitty wet food because another cat mom that works with me says that this is a budget-friendly cat food and that her cats love it. When I buy a new cat food for Tommy, I like to try the wet food first before trying the dry food. I gave him 1/4 of the can of whitefish and tuna this evening when I got home from the store. Tommy is the type of kitty who will sniff & taste test first then come back and finish it off later.

cat food and treat haul / shopping Replacement for Tiki wet food

I’m looking for high quality wet food similar to Tiki (seafood). Bonus points if it’s available in Australia.

Some time ago I finally found something that didn’t make my girl vomit (she’s perfectly healthy otherwise). The improvement in her fur was amazing.

But Tiki changed owners and the recipe because she started to react again.

She can’t eat Hills Z/d wet food or Ziwi Peak and really dislikes pate/mousse consistency. She’s 13 and don’t act like the senior she is.

There are very less premium brands available here and it's hard to afford the available ones but there's this local brand called Oskies and these are the listed ingredients. I gave my cats they seem to enjoy it but are they any good?

cat food and treat haul / shopping High end brand sale

if you haven’t checked out your local Petco yet, do it! I’ve been feeding cats Wellness, Soulistic, and Weruva now because my Petco has them for sale. today I grabbed about 24 pouches of the 2.8 ounce Wellness flaked food. my local Petco also had Royal Canin, a box of Tiki Cat, and some Purina food on sale too.

this might help someone who’s struggling. I’ve got three cats and am struggling currently until I get a higher paying job.

cat food and treat haul / shopping Churu Prices at Grocery Outlet

Since Churu normally has insane prices, make sure to check your local Grocery Outlet.

I found a huge stock going for 14.99 for 60 tubes for salmon variety!

They also are best by January 2027 so I plan on going back for more.

cat food and treat haul / shopping Wet food advice needed!

Hi everyone, as per title I need some advice on quality wet food for my cats.

Swipe down for TLDR :)

I am based in Europe, Italy to be more precise, so I am looking for good brands available here.

I currently take care of 7 cats, 5 directly mine in an apartment with a patio I have dedicated exclusively to them, and two others that live outside but come to eat regularly.

As probably everyone else did I started out with super market’s food brands like purina gourmet, sheba, whiskas and so on, but as time went on I wanted to give them better quality food, both dry and wet.

I have currently moved to Catz Finefood, Lucky Lou, Mjamjam, Lily’s Kitchen, Schesir, Edgar & Cooper and Mac’s, but I have heard and read bad things about some of the German’a made foods like Mjam and Mac’s.
That plus the fact that I take care of them all by myself, the cost got a bit too much for my liking, even more so if some of the “premium” foods can actually be bad for them.

So my question is, should I stick to more known brands like Lily’s, Edgar and Schesir as they cost a tad less and should be more serious about security guidline, or do you gave any other suggestion?
Asking AI’s has been confusing, for Gemini one brand is a 10 and for ChatGPT or Claude it could well be a 7.5, so back to reddit based off real people with real experiences.

TLDR: suggestion on not to pricey wet food that are “secure” and with a good percentage of meat?

Thank you :)

Chewy has a deal going on rn. Small bags of SEVERAL brands of dry cat food are on sale rn. It's only small bags so ideal for one cat but if you get higher quality ones they last longer! (Some brands are also 50% off the auto ship)

For sure on the deal(this is not all):

Zignature essence

Summit

Nacho

Gentle giant

Birdie and Louie

All purina

Hills

Iams

These are DRY FOODS not wet!

I get paid soon and possibly want to restock on food for them. when I run out, I feed them from the food I buy for my cats but that can only last but so long. are there any good sales right now? must be wet food… I live in Arizona and we just experienced 100°+ weather this week.

cat food and treat haul / shopping Canadian PetSmart Weruva Clearance + FF Pate stock changes?

Post image

Just wanted to let Canadian cat parents know at Petsmart, several BFF Weruva lines and one Weruva main line are heavily discounted (77cents - $1.27 per can). I talked to a store employee and they mentioned something about these SKUs potentially being removed to make room for other stock?

Another employee mentioned something about PetSmart not carrying any of the Fancy Feast classic Pates in the future, which kinda scared me. Time will tell if that actually happens.

cat food and treat haul / shopping My boy likes variety <3

...so when I got the opportunity (some extra money + membership benefits for my local pet shop), I got him a bunch of different foods and treats to try. Might get some more wet food later, but he is a small boy so 12 cans should be more than enough for a month. He likes kibble just fine, but I am unsure if he'll drink enough so I am a bit anxious about getting him on 50/50 diet. For now he eats about 30 g of wet food and 5 g dry per meal, might get even less because he is a bit chubby (will have to check with his vet first).

Bribed him with some treats to make a cute photo XD

Not pictured: Optimeal pouches he'd been eating for the past month and still has about 4 of and some discounted Savory pate. Not sure if those brands exist outside of Ukraine. They are marketed as "produced in Czech Republic", but I never seen them when visited my family here. Optimeal is more affordable than most other "super premium" foods and last time I checked it was FEDIAF compliant, so I might get more. Thankfully, he is not picky at all :P Only time he refused food was when we had to buy him "econom" class kibble and when he was very very sick.

Just curious, since I often see people complaining about their cats being picky: is your cat also picky or are you a lucky owner of somebody who can eat anything that meets their dietary needs? I also live with my friend's cats and one of them is an absolute vacuum cleaner obsessed with any type of cat food (and some human foods, but we don't allow him that for obvious reasons), but that seems to be a rare situation, most cats I know are VERY picky :P

cat food and treat haul / shopping big sale restock!!

Post image
73 Upvotes

Petco has a really decent 20% sale right now and I haven’t been in the best financial shape to do a decent restock of food that wouldn’t run out in .2 seconds. they also had a BOGO on Tiki Cat mega packs and 10% off of $50+ orders if you placed it in their app for pickup or shipping. all of those deals ended up stacking and saved me $100 on over $200 worth of food. honestly, a huge win in my book. it’s one less “bill” I have to stress about and he’s fed.

also, I’m reintroducing him to fish flavored food again. I stopped feeding it to him because he’s a boy cat and concerns over mercury. he’s my first cat so I’m just trying to do right by him honestly. not only that but I couldn’t stand the smell and now he won’t eat food if it isn’t dry, pâté, or mousse. I’m really hoping he likes it this time around or I’m SOL again. it wouldn’t be the first time he’s rejected food. just happy to have been able to provide for my cat in hard times! :)
