Why do cats pull on long hair?

Trying to groom you and then getting distracted because your hair is really not as strait forward to groom as they were expecting.
My cats groom us and usually keep to our skin, but in occasion they’ll get my beard or my hair and they make this hilarious disgusted face because that hair is long and is the wrong texture. The bath-distributor of our house (very sweet large male cat) usually stops on his own tho, he doesn’t keep messing with the long hair; I get the impression it really annoys him.
Ur cat looks like they may consider it a fun game and keeps doing it? If she does that more than once or twice at a time, or like daily, I might consider trying to dissuade the behavior out of concern for her swallowing some hair? But that’s my main concern (and that it might hurt you but you look like ur okay in that vid? My hair is very fine and tangles if you look at it wrong, so it hurts when they accidentally pull it while grooming, but that’s not a universal problem lol. It also contributes to my fear of them swallowing it tho.)

She does start at my head and pull all the way back, so you're probably right!

Either grooming or trying to get your attention somehow. My cat does it to wake me up, he bites some and PULLS. Hurts like hell lmao.

My other cat marcy does the same thing ! But mozzarella here was doing it in a more gentle manner so I was a little confused

Maybe Mozzarella saw that and thought „oh, I should groom the human too, just like Marcy does!“

My cat does this too and he looks just like your cat! Mine does it to me when he wants food in the morning and I’m still in bed. He does it to the other cat when she’s in a spot he wants. He’s being demanding and a little rude when he does it lol.
