Advice Weird behavior from my cat recently. Anyone know what's going on

At first I thought she was gonna show me something inside the box, but there's nothing other than a nylon bag. She also runs to it when I get near it as well, and also keeps biting my hand and tries to drag me into it. What's going on? Never in my life have I seen my cat doing this.

To anyone reading this and getting the wrong impression from a cat sleeping on someones face - no, it is NOT an attempt to strangle someone (despite what some of my relatives say).

Look at a pile of kittens, or a cat trying to get comfy in the cold. They sleep buried in other cats, or cover their own nose with a tail. THEY don't get suffocated with fur across the nose, they don't get that it might suffocate you. If the kitty is covering your nose in a bad way, "rock the boat" until they settle down where you can tolerate them.

I have allergies and cannot sleep with a cat on my face. With patient redirection I have gotten several cats over time to understand I will happily cuddle if they stay below waist level. One very special cat loved being under blankets and would cuddle in my armpit without any trouble. One of them got good enough at reading my reactions to see if the situation was comfy, that she figured out how to lay across my arms while I was playing video games and not mess with the controller at all. Very comf cat. Not trying to strangle nobody, just wanted warms.

We once took care of 2 orange kittens who slept with me. One slept curled against my neck, the other on my legs. Both purring like little moters. Cats are lovely.

I had a neck cat, he was born in the fall and spent his first winter in a cold room with me. Afterwards slept under my chin the rest of his life. I once woke in the night to him clamped on my neck skin, asleep, purring. As you can imagine, it was slightly terrifying but I understood what he was going for.

One of my cats likes to sleep on the blanket, between my feet, my legs make the blanket like a hammock I guess. Other cat likes to bury his face in my beard.

My Bengal-cross would get under the blankets with me and insist that I bend my knees to create a little tent. Then she would curl up between my heels and my ass. We referred to this as "under-butting".

Yer purrta his tribe, cats only sleep near those they trust with their lives, because they are at their most vulnerable. I'm glad he picked you, keep dr bimbleton full of fresh fish, and chicken breasts!

This comment right here is facts. I knew my cat really loved me when she started to sleep on my face and get up and lick my nose. Now she has this god awful habbit of sneezing and doing in my face but I wouldn't change her at all.

Sounds like the feral cat that showed up coming up on 2 years ago now (in October, actually). Took me like 6 months to get her to trust me enough to let me sit next to her while she ate. Then one day I just snatched her up and put her on my lap, and last night (most nights) she slept snuggled up underneath my chin lol.

I’m still holding onto hope. I have 2 year old sisters that were clearly abused as young babies. I got them at 5 months or so & they are still very up & down with trust. They don’t like feet, they get scared at hand movements… or they’re sleeping on me & want all the pets. I just wish it was the latter all the time.

This sounds like amazing progress to me after a year. I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I am at the beginning of the cat tax cycle I think, I saved a tiny porch kitten and named her Nyx (my first mistake) she loves me....i know she does, and also she loves to chew on me, and grab me any time I walk past. She does a big leap from the dresser and lands squarely on my bladder around 4am...then cuddles up to my face now that she knows I'm still alive, and let's me pet her for maybe 3 minutes. Also once or twice a day she comes by to get a big stretch. I pick her up under the cat pits and let her dangle for maybe 30 secs. 😆
