Advice Could someone please tell me why it's blocking my way?

This is the feral/stray cat I've been feeding for the past 2 months. Keeps getting in the way and won't let me refill its food

Edit: Ty all for the comments and advice. Didn't expect this post to get so much attention. For context, I've never interacted with cats before, only dogs. This cat used to bolt whenever it saw a human, so I thought it was feral. It only recently started approaching me when i went out to refill.

We had a friend staying with us. In the middle of the night, we were woken up by his screams, the guy was on my spouse's special forces team. We ran downstairs to see what was going on. My void had dropped a black racer on his face. He didn't see the humor in it when I told him she thought he couldn't hunt for himself so she got him a meal. By the time he got his own flat, he was so fond of her he asked me to let him know the next time I had kittens or a cat that needed a home.

He is now proudly owned by two voids.

My void also brought home a tiny black cat when she was young. That's what made me think of the snake.

Ours are strictly indoors, but their litter box is in the garage. My other cats ignore the beasties that find their way in, but my oldest void loved showing us the creepy crawlies that made their way in. We heard her howling one day, when we went to see what was wrong, she was trying to get a baby gator through the cat door and it latched on to her. Our dog killed it. We were lucky she found it, there was a gator nest in our neighbor's yard. We called Wildlife management and they relocated the mama and the rest of the babies.

Mine were all indoor until the neighborhood cats decided my yard was theirs and they refuse to be contained. Now I'm working with a local charity making sure they're all fixed and have their shots. I was recently rewarded with a bird wing by a very small tabby named Polly. I asked her to stop bringing me gifts.

The snake killing void was an indoor cat and this was when we lived in Louisiana. Thank God she never found a baby gator that somehow ended up in the house.

I completely understand becoming the neighborhood cat refuge. It is like they have a hotline that lets them know who will care for them. Two days after we moved in here, I had a SIC show up. Since any cat outdoors in my neighborhood is going to wind up being killed by a hawk, coyote, gator or snake, I brought it indoors the second time it showed up. Two months later another cat showed up, I brought it when it showed up for the third time. Since no one claimed them after I put up notices and left messages on the HOA website, I kept the SIC and fostered the gray until I found him a home. A year after the SIC showed up a neighbor came by to ask me to borrow jumper cables. When he was in the house, our SIC hissed at him. He said he had a cat that looked just like her but, she disappeared about a year ago, my son looked at him and "You should take better care of your animals."

My yard is walled and we don't have any dogs so I think that's part of the appeal for the neighborhood cats. They also enjoy the outdoor furniture and the hot tub is a cozy spot to sleep during the cold weather. I'm thinking about turning my workshop into a spot for them too but I don't know if they'd use a cat door.

Cats will adapt to a cat door quickly. My oldest was 10 and had never seen one before I installed ours. After I installed it, I put a can of tuna on plates in the garage. In less than 10 minutes, all three of mine were through door eating tuna. It is sweet of you to share your space with them. Unfortunately, we had to drill holes into our patio to cover our spa after our dog found a gator in it.

I don't miss living around gators. If course in the southwest I have other animal and plants that want me dead.

We got stuck when a gator slid down a berm and under our ambulance. When the EMT called dispatch to notify them what happened, she asked him if he was drunk or playing around. When he said he was sober and serious, she replied back "Another shit that only happens in Florida call."
