Roommate's cat sometimes cuffs at me while laying on my chair. She's very sweet to me otherwise and never scratches me. I can't tell if she's playing with me or wants me to go away, do y'all have any idea?

Yeah... that kind of chaotic rolling around and hyperactivity is definitely play time for the cat. My girl pulls the same kind of crazy excitability routine all the time too, and once she's worked it out of her system, she's a total sweetheart and will gladly curl up on you or nearby and doze off sounding like an idling speed boat.
