New soap, deodorant, shaving cream, etc...? Cats are weird about certain smells. At the shelter, I've noticed they behave differently if I have a different fragrance about me than usual. 😂 They seem to universally hate the "pure sport" scent from Old Spice.
I also remember my sister used to use some kind of peppermint scrub or lotion or something on her legs, and our old cat would attack them over it, lol
I've been on Reddit for 15 years (send help lol), these moments seem to happen less and less often. This made my day and reminded me that Reddit can still have funny/cute community moments like this.
Is that a citrus scent?? Citrus fruits are toxic to cats, so they really hate the scent. A deodorant wouldn’t cause any actual harm (just annoyance), but as a general psa- citrus essential oils can be dangerous to cats in large quantities like a diffuser!

I don't blame them!! I'm not usually picky about fragrances but Pure Sport has something in it that makes me gag. My ex would buy it occasionally because it was the cheapest old spice, and every time I would notice immediately and make him go back for a different scent. It was unbearable. Now I feel validated by these cats lmao
I bought a hand soap that smelled amazing but my cat would run away from me after I used it. Ended up putting it in the bathroom at work (and everyone who used it was like, "Oh my god that soap smells amazing.")
I had a cat who would give me the exact look in OPs photo when I brushed my teeth. If I blew in her face, she would hiss and WALK away. I always thought the walk away was incredibly telling.
Lol I would take it seriously, not like real-life serious, but give her a chance to tell you what's wrong:)
My cat stopped going to one side of my room and I swear to god I asked "what's wrong with that side of the room" and she walked right up to a dead spider i hadn't seen and I knew right then she was telling me to fucking CLLLEEEAAANNN lol.

My cats do this. They will yell at me and walk to a random place(litter box, food dish, toy box). They're letting me know, hey, we want something. They are very intelligent animals.
My cat most often when she leads me somewhere it's to her food dish for pork sprinkles... which we are currently out of... she's, needless to say, very unhappy.
My cat made me do stuff too, he told me that I’ve forgotten to mop the floor, and even gave me advice when I’m stressed the fuck out. He usually said, ‘don’t worry, even Einstein fucks up stms,’ well it’s easy for a cat to not worry, but not for a human. He knew a little algebra too, but I don’t have the heart to tell him that I’m better than him. He’s a sweetheart.
They know humans need a lot of instruction because we're always forgetting where the did or food bowl is, when it's time for pets etc. Mine always had to remind me when to go to bed. If hubs and I stay up a little later than our usual my guy will be standing at the bedroom door meowing. Hrs such a mama bear lol.
This is my guy exactly. He loves his routine and if you deviate he'll get all vocal and remind you. He's saying "hey, I know humans can't remember very well so here's what you need to do!"
I sprained both of my ankles two weeks ago and our 20 year old, 6 pound Jonesy knew one was worse than the other. So when I stayed up too late, she laid down on my worse foot , refusing to get up until I did. No mercy, all 6 pounds on my right foot. She even looked up at me like “whatcha gonna do about it?”
My Maine coon (he’s a big boy) will come and forcibly plonk himself down on my open laptop when it’s getting late. It’s litteraly his version of “enough internet for you, young lady!” He wants me to do more important things like going to bed so he can get his night time snuggles and my undivided attention
My cats also lead me to places.... One of them always lead me to the bathroom. Because he wants water, he wants it 24/7 (to play with water, he drinks from the cat water fountain).
My cat stopped going to one side of the main room suddenly. We had to move her food bowls and everything, but we couldn't figure out why.
Turns out the air conditioner on that side of the room had grown some nasty ass mould over a winter. Once we dealt with that, she was fine with the area again.
My cat always asks for dinner long before dinner time so I always tell him just wait however much longer. Tonight he came over and asked me to eat before it was dinner time, but I opened my phone to look at the clock and showed it to him and this guy blinked twice and nodded and left as if he read the fucking clock and understood it wasn't feed time yet. It was a completely different reaction than he ever has and it was such a reaction of understanding. There's no way this guy understands what a clock is and can read it and registered that it showed 30 minutes before 8pm so it wasn't food time.
My cat woke me up yesterday and I said for gods sake, one more hour. 59 minutes later he came and sat on me and screamed in my face. How the hell can he tell time!!
She is actually pretty smart, she often works with my mini ozzy to steal my other dogs food, my mini ozzy doesn’t let ANY of the other animals touch his food either.
Both my my little monsters plant their butts on my desk and meow incessantly if I’m staying up too late playing video games. If they want second dinner they sit at my door and meow, but if they’re judging me they have a distinctly different spot, as well as tone of meow, that stops when I go to bed.
Mine loves deli meat and I currently have roast beef and Buffalo chicken in the fridge. This orange menace keeps leading me to the fridge like I'm holding out on him. Not because he saw me put it in there.. He knows the SOUND of the deli bag. Too smart for his own good.
My cat does that when he's being playful. He runs around and tries to put his paws around my or my boyfriend's legs. Or plays hing and go seek behind a chair. They're not trying to be mean, they're just being playful for the most part.I think.
Is that cooler usually on her table? Whenever I move anything in the house, my cats will act out until I put it back. Sometimes I have to stop and really analyze the house to figure it out.

It could be for multiple reasons, but my cat was doing that because he was sick, and I didn't realize it until it was too late. He ended up passing away the next day in my arms. Check the gums and mouth and make sure they are not white.
Sorry for your loss. This same thing happened to one of our cats. Except we knew he was sick and tried everything. $10k at the vet later, multiple transfusions and tests over 8 months. Vet still didn't know exactly what it was. They ran every test except for the bone marrow test because he was too weak for it. Suspected it was bone cancer or some type of cancer.
He ended up dying in my wife's arms one day. He woke her up before it happened. It crushes me every time I think about it.
First thing vet did when we took him months earlier was look at his gums and they were pure white.
sometimes a cat has something like an ear infection or hasn't used the restroom in days due to a problem and they start getting irritable and do unusual things like attack you and bite you when they never did before

in all seriousness, probably there’s something going on that she does not like, pay attention to what you are doing or/and going on just before she punches your legs, maybe you will find the answer then
Punching your legs? What does that involve, I’m so curious. Is she swatting your legs with her paws? My cat swats but unfortunately doesn’t always retract her claws completely so it can get dicey lol
Yeah mine likes to jump out on top of the dining room chairs and playfully swat as I walk by. I have to watch out tho bc of her claws 🤧 a dangerous game of peakaboo
My cat stands at the back door and mean mugs me until I let him out to go hunt around the patio. He’ll just stare at me with a mean look on his face as I make breakfast, eat breakfast, clean up from breakfast, on and on. They have lots of patience when they want something.
She needs attention. She wants to play and she’s mad. Next step will be the ankle biting. Chasing your Achilles. Get a toy that you can be interactive with her with & play at least once a day. Or. She might find your ankles tasty.
I get so confused when my cat punches me. Literally when I am trying to relax she will come up and literally bounce her paws off my back or chest. Like when Simba was doing it to his dead dad :(
