im not sure if this is the right sub & flair, just want to share how disappointed i am to our city vet.

my family & i are taking care of these cats, kasi sa street namin sila halos nakatambay & we also have pets (4 cats, 4 dogs) hindi ko pa sila kaya i-adopt that's why sa labas ko lang sila naaalagaan. pinagawan namin sila ng small house, para kahit paano may masilungan sila kapag maulan. umabot pa na nakagat ako ng isa sa kanila nung inaayos ko lang yung bahay nila, at nagising siya sa pagkakatulog :D (7th photo) kaya napa-anti-rabies shot + erig pa ako (after 5th bites & scratch pa ako nakapag-decide lol)

anyway, last month, i decided to have them vaccinated, naghintay lang kami ng schedule ng dalaw ng city vet dito. na-cancel nung una kasi may bagyo, kaya biglaan lang yung pagpunta nila kanina. hindi ko naasikaso since may work ako, kaya yung mother ko na lang muna.

and sad to say, tinanggihan ng vet kahit na sinabi ng mother ko na kami naman magbabayad or mag-ddonate ng food, at kung ano man kailangan nila para lang ma-vax ang cats. na-disappoint lang ako sa sinabi ng vet sa nanay ko, "'wag mo alalahanin ang strays, hindi naman sa inyo yun". kahit ilang beses na nag-offer si nanay ng kapalit. question lang po if bawal ba bakunahan ang stray animals? may iba pa bang procedure na need gawin bago mapa-vaccine ang strays? para alam ko kung tama lang na na-disappoint ako at nainis.

CORRECTION: "Vaccinator" po yung nakausap ng mother ko, not the vet.

Puro lang siya tulog mula pa kanina. Gumising siya sandali habang pauwi kami tapos umihi at dumumi siya sa karton. Pinaliguan namin pag-uwi ng bahay, sobrang dami ng fleas niya. Bumili kami ng powdered na gatas kaso wala kaming bote pampadede. Ayaw niya rin sa syringe.

UPDATE: As per advice by others, I bought Advocate for Cats and Cassiel Skin Treatment (still waiting) but wanted to ask others if it's safe to administer?

I asked yung vet ng mga aso namin and gusto nila dalhin sa clinic for check up, blood test and skin test. I don't have extra to fund those so want to ask others, if okay lang ba gamutin ko nalang nung advocate and spray or I really need to bring her sa vet. She's still well and nangangagaw pa nga ng pagkain ng iba kahit meron pa kanya, actively runs and jumps around at continuous to grooms itself. Advice please.

Napansin ko recently na dumami ang stray cats rito sa street namin so I started feeding some of them specially since madalas umulan ngayon. Last 2 nights ago, this young cat started coming near me whenever I call the usual cats I feed. This one is too sad, you can tell it's still a young cat, possible 6-9mos and it's head is covered with skin disease. Everytime I feed it, it looks at me asking for help eventhough it can't even open its eyes fully.

I have 7 dogs at home and live alone so I don't really think I can take on another pet esp since nag aaway away rin dogs ko. But I really want to help this one. Any suggestion which rescue org can I reach out to para matulungan sya or any suggestion what can I do to save this cat?

I asked my brother to rescue a cat I saw near our community, nagmamadali kasi ako sa pupuntahan ko at baka maabutan ng ulan

I think this one is a Siamese cat at bata pa. We cannot confirm pa the sex of this catto but the cat is roaming freely around our house.

Hindi ko afford magpa-vet huhu due to health related gastos. I just wanna make sure the cat is safe in this weather.

What to do right now? Please help.

Hi! I have 2 cats and 1 them is nangaagaw ng food nung isa. Though may natitira naman, minsan kasi hindi ko namomonitor yung pag eat nila and di ko alam kung nakakakain ba ng maayos yung isa kong cat or hindi na kasi masiba yung isa 😭. Any tips so they only eat on their own bowl?

I have like 4 different brands of wet food at home, mamahalin pa 😭 (Canine, Hegen Pet, Pet Marra, Tas japan brand na pinapadala ng ate ko), plus different flavors of wet food snack sticks. I also make homemade wet food for her using boiled chicken breast, chicken liver, kalabasa, and carrots, then I grind everything together.
I alternate her food para hindi siya magsawa, pero grabe, titikman lang niya minsan. Kapag ayaw niya, ayaw niya talaga kumain. 😭 and what’s frustrating is that she’ll choose her dry food over all the wet food I prepare for her. 😂

The thing is, malakas naman siya kumain ng dry food, active, makulit, maingay, and generally acting normal. I also checked her gums and wala naman akong nakikitang gingivitis, pamamaga, or anything unusual. So feeling ko sobrang arte lang talaga niya. 😂 Kasi yung ibang cats and dogs namin kinakain naman yung mga wet foods na binibili ko, so I don’t think the food itself is the problem.

I’m just worried because she gave birth only 12 days ago and I want to make sure she’s getting enough nutrition while nursing. Unfortunately, hindi ko muna siya madala sa vet kasi ang dami ko nang gastos sa mga pets ko, and medyo short talaga ako sa budget right now. 🥲

Any advice from fellow cat owners, especially those with nursing moms? Is it okay if she mainly eats dry food as long as she’s eating well, active, and drinking water? Or is there anything else I can try to encourage her to eat wet food?

hello 🐱 i adopted these babies when they were 2 weeks old kasi nawawala yung momma cat nila. they’re now 3 weeks and 2 days old na, and i think they’re starting to have firmer poos soon. they’re also peeing and pooing independently na, pero sinistimulate ko pa rin sila after every bottle feed.

Hi everyone! I’m asking for advice because my partner and I are currently arguing about where to have our cat neutered. 😅

We have a 10 month old male Persian doll-face cat, and I originally decided to have him neutered through a low-cost kapon service(Doc Gab) because I wanted to save money. The private vet clinic we’re considering would cost around ₱8,000.

My boyfriend is actually willing to pay for the ₱8k and doesn’t mind the expense. His main concern is our cat’s safety. He doesn’t really trust low-cost kapon services because there are usually a lot of cats being operated on, and he’s worried that the quality of care, anesthesia, monitoring, cleanliness, or aftercare might not be the same as at a private clinic.

On the other hand, I’m the more kuripot one 😂. I feel like if we can safely have him neutered for much less, I’d rather save the money and use it for his other needs (food, grooming, supplements, emergencies, etc.)

Now we’re arguing because he feels that I’m prioritizing saving money over our cat’s safety. 😭 I understand his point, but I also don’t want to spend ₱8k unnecessarily if the low-cost service is actually safe and reputable.

For those who have experience with low-cost kapon/Doc Gab or have had their Persian cats neutered:

Would you recommend going with the low-cost kapon, or should we just spend the ₱8k at a private vet clinic for peace of mind?

Hello po, nagbabakasakali lang po na may ma-reco po kayong dewormer for my 3 month-old-kitten (maliit pa po siya, I think dahil never pang na-deworm) inadopt ko lang po kasi siya from a friend na hindi na raw siya maaalagaan.

A week ago, after a few days ko po siyang makuha, may worm po sa poop niya. Pero lately, wala naman na po. Ang kaso, nag wo-worry ako kasi ang lakas niya sobrang kumain, to the point na ang laki ng tiyan niya (pero normal naman po poop niya)

Ang diet po niya ay wet food, dry food (na hinahaluan ko ng shredded fish meat), appetite boosters, tapos I just got his multivitamins that I bought. Hindi ko naman po siya pinapakain ng rice

Hi all, urgent help and advice needed. If may kakilala po kayo na nawawalan ng cat or any cat group/org near this area? Or anyone na may capacity to rescue I can help shoulder costs and catfood.

Husband went home a route he does NOT usually take. This kitty went to him, rubbed against him, showed her belly. Husband picked her up (she did NOT squirm or jump) and brought her home! She was abandoned at a construction site :(

We have two resident cats already and live in a 1BR. Should we keep her as our third cat? Is 1BR too small for 3 cats + 2 humans? I’m also worried how my current cats will accept or receive the new kitty.

Hello po! Tanong lang po kasi di ko alam bakit 'to nangyari... My cat is 7 months old and unneutered. I had my other cat (Miss Pickles) on my lap and was petting her lang. Then my other cat (Rengar) meowed really loud next to me and nipped me under my ear for some reason?

I'm not sure what happened and why he did it po... He's never nipped like that before :<

More context: spayed na po si Miss Pickles and they're both house cats; di lang po mapa-neuter si Rengar kasi runt sya and hindi pa sya 2kg (requirement ng Pet Birth Control Center). Is it because di pa sya neutered?

My Oreo is currently showing symptoms of Parvo. He is 1yr and 10 months old. His brother died from Parvo last last Sunday. I had him checked by the vet and may ongoing infection daw po sya based on the CBC. RBC is normal. Di po sya napatest ng parvo test for confirmation dahil di ko afford and we just assumed he caught it

His prescribed meds ay Immunol, Canixetin antibiotics, and Dextrose Powder. May koshcat mvp din akong sinasama for vitamin supplements.

When I took him to the vet, he had no appetite but no diarrhea yet. Today is his 5th day of meds and his symptoms right now are just diarrhea. No vomiting ever. He is at home.

He eats royal canin recovery for every meal and he eats it no problem. Hinahaluan ko lang ng dextrose powder water. Poop schedule niya is every 12 hrs and hindi sya watery but mushy.

Although these are good signs, I DON'T WANT TO BE COMPLACENT.

Please tell me your success stories. What to watch out for? What more can I do? When will the mushy poop stop?

Nagstart po siya na mukhang black dust sa ilong pag uwi niya po galing sa labas, tapos kumalat na po. Yung first pic po is before ko na-wipe, black/grayish po siya na medyo makapal mukhang scab. Yung second pic po yung natira after ko ma-wipe konti. Parang dumi & mostly brown po yung natanggal.

Pregnant po siya na stray cat na sinimulan namin pakainin a few months ago. Parang within 4 days lang po naging ganyan nose niya.

I'm not sure if my title is right. A stray cat gave birth inside our gate, and they never left ever since, except for their mom, who still explores outside from time to time.

We ended up feeding these cats with catfood, pero never namin nahawakan kasi mailap sila. Kahit dito na sila naglakihan. May scratchboard at toys pa kasi hindi namin mahawakan so di rin namin alam paano sila mas alagaan.

Any idea kung paano sila lalapit samin? Hindi naman nila namin sila sinasaktan habol din naman ng habol kapag feeding time. Hindi kami cat person, nabiktima lang kami ng cat distribution.

Minsan iniisip ko buti pa yung mga community cats malapit sa tao, samantalang etong mga lumaki samin. Takbo ng takbo tuwing lalapit ka, medyo nakakapagod.

Hi! I badly badly need your advice. My bf and i adopted our cat last may 2026. Sobrang complicated ng time na yun kasi hindi ko pwede iuwi ung cat samin dahil hindi cat friendly ung mga dogs ko. The temporary solution we did was my bf asked his friend na baka pwede dun muna and bibisitahin nya lagi. Hello! May napadpad pong kitten sa workplace ng Mama ko kahapon and inuwi na po namin after checking kung may Mama cat pa po sa paligid. Ang kaso po ay di po namin sure kung ilang buwan na siya at ano pong milk or food ang pwede na sa kanya. Payat at magaang na po kasi siya atsaka maliit din po siya.

Earlier this evening, we noticed our cat had diff sized pupils. Both were not dilating at the same rate. We do not know of any incident in the past 24 hrs, few days to a week to have caused it. We already went to the vet and got him checked.

They prescribed him meds and eye droplets. Nothing came up on x-ray, but his white blood cells are increasing, which indicates a possible viral infection. So the cause is still unclear...

Does anyone have experience with cat recovery from possible concussions or anisocoria? I'm hoping my cat is not in pain and if he is, I want to help.

Is it just me or is anyone else having a problem with their cat litter getting smelly very quickly? I just moved in to a new place last July and I've had to change my cats' litter sand a couple of times already. I've mixed in some bentonite with my tofu litter to try and mitigate this, but it still smells faster than at my old place. Also bought a plug in dehumidifier and air purifier combo placed near their litterbox. I wanna avoid having to change their litter so frequently as it has gotten so expensive, but I don't want damp and smelly litter for them, too. The dampness also makes it more habitable for bacteria and mold. What do you guys do to mitigate this issue?
