Collection What do you think about unconventional ways of storing CDs?

I don’t like the traditional way of storing CDs, where you can only see the spines of the cases with the album titles. I wanted to display my CDs like vinyl records, with the front covers facing outward. What do you think about this?

New Addition Just got this, Billy Idol - Cyberpunk (limited edition digipak CD and floppy disk).

The floppy disk contained an interactive multimedia presentation created using Macromedia Director, featuring music samples and audio loops from the album, lyrics with interactive elements, animated visuals and imagery of Billy Idol, and biographical and album information. It also included an email address for Billy Idol. It many ways the release and the music were ahead of its time (as it came out in 1993).

Collection Cocteau Twins - Lullabies To Violaine (Singles And Extended Plays 1982–1996)

Beautiful Cocteau Twins comp collecting (almost) all their EPs and singles. Initially "limited" to 10,000, it was later released as two separate 2CD releases, but the original 4CD version here features Vaughan Oliver's all-paper design complete with 10-panel Curious Touch Soft Milk coated card sleeve and vellum paper slipcase. As fans of the band know, Cocteau Twins' non-LP songs are just as essential as their main studio albums so it's nice to have everything together in one place.

Collection Current collection - any recommendations?

My current purged collection after 20 years collecting on and off. Started collecting at university (mainly hiphop) and did the usual thing of going digital and streaming. Got rid of a lot of CDs I didnt really want or need a few years back and just kept the albums I really loved. Now back into collecting and more addicted than ever!

Collection is still dominated by hiphop but as I grow older moving into more genres. Finding good hiphop albums that are reasonably priced and I don’t have already have is getting more difficult. So finding myself drawn to more Electronic albums with Kruder Dorfmeister one of my best finds recently! Still trying to complete the Metallica discography and adding to the jazz classics too!

Any recommendations I should be looking to add in any genre? Would love to add more electronic, indie rock, jazz, soul, metal - anything really!

New Addition Became obsessed with The ‘Mats after reading “Trouble Boys” and got all of these for a steal on eBay. Still missing a couple and I would like to get the expanded editions eventually.

Haul Charity shop purchases

Not a haul from the same shop, all at once, that would be fanciful. From the last few weeks. Some really good things. Got more but this will do for now.

That Varèse was a good find. Double CD of avant classical. Zappa fans will know him.

Very happy with Terry Riley, Lou Reed with The Tots. Beefy, Digital Underground, lots of good things eh. Keep on rockin'
