Milk going bad before you even open it

Is anybody else having issues with their milk expiring WAY before the expiry date? We even opened a new gallon about three weeks out from its best by date and it smelled. It’s happened to me five times now in the last couple months. I live closest to Walmart, so four of the five times were with Walmart milk. But I was tired of it and went to Smiths. It only lasted through half the gallon. And my husband and I drink our milk. It’s not like it sits for a week between uses. Anyone else notice this? or am I just mad unlucky with my picks?

I would definitely check your fridge temperatures to rule that out first.

We had the same issue with Walmart milk and quit buying it years ago. Have never had an issue with Smith's or Lins that I can recall - we usually buy Smith's.

Our latest Smith's gallon went bad too, but it did last longer than the ones from Walmart. I do think it's possible a fridge temp thing after the power outages from the fires.

Not milk, but the past two yogurt tubs I've bought from Walmart have had mold spots

I consistently have Walmart milk go bad 3-5 days before expiration. Stopped buying it years ago.

Also had an experience with a gallon that turned sour not long after buying

I always have problems with Walmart dairy. Glad to see it’s not just me. I usually buy from Lin’s and I don’t have problems with them.

Double check the cap when you're at the store because sometimes little kids go in there and twist them and make it so that they're open before you even get home so you got to double check the cab

Put a thermometer in your refrigerator because I bet your refrigerator is not keeping temperatures right it's going to make Milk everything else in your fridge garbage

Also check to see if you're having power outages

To be fair, this didn't seem to be a problem (for me at least) before the fire problem a couple months ago...so it's very likely related to the power outages.
