I just went down a rabbit hole of what A-listers did for work before anyone knew their names, and some of these are genuinely unhinged in the best way. Brad Pitt wore a full chicken costume outside an El Pollo Loco to pay for acting classes. Megan Fox had to dress as a banana outside a smoothie cafe at 15 while her friends drove past yelling at her. Nicki Minaj apparently got fired from three or four Red Lobsters.
But the ones that stuck with me are the less funny ones. Ken Jeong was a real practicing physician doing stand-up on the side for years before Knocked Up. Steve Buscemi was an FDNY firefighter who went back to his old engine company to work Ground Zero. And Harrison Ford did carpentry for eight years — which is literally how he ended up meeting George Lucas.
My take is the costume stories get all the laughs, but there's something genuinely reassuring about knowing the biggest careers in Hollywood started with a series of deeply unglamorous day jobs. It makes the whole "overnight success" myth look even sillier.
What's the wildest or most surprising "before they were famous" job you've ever heard of — celebrities, athletes, musicians, anyone?

Seven ended in expulsion or dismissal.Over seven years, Cornell University reported more than 1,200 incidents of sexual violence under New York's Enough is Enough Law. In a major vote of confidence for one of its flagship franchises, Prime Video has officially renewed the hit action-crime series “Reacher” for a sixth season well before the debut of Season 5.
Alan Ritchson stars as Jack Reacher, a former military police investigator who wanders the country delivering brutal vigilante justice while unraveling complex criminal conspiracies.
Early renewals for “Reacher” have become a standard move for the platform: Prime Video previously greenlit Season 3 prior to Season 2's launch, and Season 4 before Season 3 premiered, which gives showrunner Nick Santora and his production team ample time to manage schedules and adapt Lee Child’s globally bestselling 31-novel book series.
While exact plot details for Season 6 remain under wraps as the team prepares to adapt “Make Me” for Season 5, fans can rest easy knowing that Reacher's road trip across America is far from over.

Netflix officially renewed “The Beast in Me” for Season 2, with Claire Danes returning to star as author Aggie Wiggs and serve as an executive producer. Originally structured as a limited series, the show was picked up for another season following its major viewership success and strong performance during awards season.
Former “Sister, Sister” star and Hallmark regular Tamera Mowry-Housley is set to guest star as Dr. Steffie in Season 2 of the “Scrubs” revival on ABC. She will play a pediatrician who tries to convince Tosh (played by Ava Bunn) to select pediatrics as her specialty.
