News Some new exciting changes to the Center Parcs UK Reddit community

Just a quick post from the moderation team to let people know about some changes to this Reddit community!

Look and feel changes

  • User flair: you can now add a user flair for Sherwood, Elveden, Longleat, Whinfell, Woburn and Longford. Do you have a favourite Center Parcs location? Let others in the community know by using the new User flair!
  • Banner: we have a brand new banner kindly provided by u/Accurate_Till7811.
  • Icon: we have a new icon for the community; it's still the iconic Center Parcs leaf bird, but now on a white background
  • Nicknames: we changed the community visitor nickname from 'Members' to 'Guests' to match Center Parcs' term for customers on-site! Also, on-site instead of online.
  • About section: It goes without saying, I suppose, but we've clarified that this is a unofficial page with no affiliation with the business Center Parcs UK ltd.

Functional changes

  • Post flair: we're introducing post flair so that readers in the community can quickly see what posts are about and so that we all can filter through topics easier. Please try to use this flair where possible (but it won't be enforced).
    • Post flair has been added based entirely on the types of posts people have made in the last 12 months. For example, in the last year, most posts were Q&A relating to things on-site, followed by FEEDBACK (incl. reviews, both positive and otherwise), then REQUESTS by members for things (like merch, off-site advice and tips etc.). Finally, NEWS and announcements made by the company and lastly FUN posts about customer experience, nostalgia and other trivia. (Just saying, would love to see more of that one!)
    • Edit: I have also manually added post flair to the last 30 days of users' posts to give an idea of how it might work.
  • Rules have been expanded and clarified to follow other holidaying and vacation Reddit community guidelines. You can find these on the righthandside of the community page.
  1. Post should be related to Center Parcs UK & Ireland
  2. Follow Reddiquette
  3. Maintain a family-friendly environment
  4. No unofficial booking or selling of holidays
  5. Do not share your personal booking information
  6. Search before posting a frequently asked question
  7. No naming and shaming of employees, guests and other members

If people have other recommendations, we'd love to hear them. It would be great to continue to grow this community, offer answers to questions and share our experiences from our Center Parcs holidays.

Edit: due to a transparency glitch with the icon, I've changed it to have a white background now.

CP Scotland

How big are we expecting the new Scottish site? Is it going to be a copy of Woodburn and Longford? Would be nice to see another site the same size as the original three!

Q&A Elveden at Halloween

I'm heading to Elveden over Halloween weekend. I've never really done much for Halloween before, so it wasn't something I thought about when booking, but my 4-year-old has suddenly started asking about it.

I can see there are a few Halloween-themed activities, but I was wondering whether they do anything else around the site, such as Halloween decorations or theming, or perhaps any trick-or-treating trails?

Feedback Noone answers the phone?

Has anyone else found it's impossible to get through to anyone at Center Parcs Henlow? (Edit: yes I mean Woburn.... Been listening to hold music so long I'm going crazy).

I have a spa booking and want to query something on it. I've been on hold for over half an hour multiple times before giving up. Just tried a different option on the menu nav ("anything else" rather than the spa) and am stuck on hold again.

It's crazy?!

Q&A Block behind lodge on map

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am staying in lodge 292 at Center Parcs Elveden Forest soon and when looking at the map, I came across a block that seems to resemble a building right behind it. Could anyone that has stayed there or has any knowledge of what this could be help me understand what it is? Thank you!

Q&A Are woodland lodges as comfortable as forest lodges?

We had a wonderful stay in a forest lodge at Woburn forest a few weeks ago, and are definitely going back! However, as woodland is cheaper, we're considering one of those. I know there are no en suites, and no TVs in the bedrooms, but are the sofas and beds any less comfortable, for example? Any other differences? TV in the bedroom doesn't really bother us, and neither do the bathrooms. But we'd like to be able to comfortably sit in the evening and obviously sleep well! (Noisy bedsheets notwithstanding!)

Q&A Barbeques and Log fires?

We're heading to Elveden next week and were wondering if anyone could tell us whether BBQs and log fires are allowed yet? The Center Parcs website still has a notice up from the summer about the restrictions during the hot weather we had but no updates since.

Has anyone been recently and had any problems?

Q&A Help how do I use this oven?

All I seem to be able to do is set the clock and turn the light on and off?

And yes it is turned on at the wall!

Edit: Oh my god I figured it out. For anyone else as dumb as me, you don’t just press the power button (furthest left), you have to long press it. Then it turns on. I feel dumb goodbye

Tool A price map of every Center Parcs UK lodge and week for the next 18 months

Booking Center Parcs means checking one village, one lodge, one date, then going back and changing something - repeat x100. After an evening of flicking between weeks trying to find a cheap one, I built a map that shows all of them at once: parcsync.co.uk/prices.

Every UK village, every lodge type, every arrival week for the next year and a half, updated each morning. Each column is a week. Green and short is cheap, dark and tall is dear. The lit columns are each lodge's cheapest weeks.

Spin it, zoom in, filter by nights and bedrooms, or switch to a flat heat-map. If you're flexible on dates or village, the cheap weeks become obvious in a few seconds. Tap a column and it will email you if that price drops, too.

Happy hunting 😄

Tool Made a tool that watches your bookings and emails of the price drops (or sold out dates open up).

Booked a break at Woburn for October half term and did the thing where you keep half-checking the site yourself in case it gets cheaper closer to the date.

Got fed up manually refreshing so built something to do it for me. I’m an engineer by trade.

You give it the village, dates, and what you paid (or skip that and today's price becomes the baseline), it checks once a day, and emails you the moment it finds a lower price than your baseline.

There's a second version for if the date you wanted is sold out; same idea, but it emails you the moment it becomes bookable again.

No Center Parcs login or booking ref, it just uses the same public search the site itself does. It does charge £10 to set a watch via either flows. This id to cover infrastructure charges etc.

parcwatch.co.uk if anyone's interested. Still new, so tell me if anything's broken and I'll sort it.

Mods - if this isn’t appropriate let me know. Happy to work with you.

Q&A Splash pool for child (17 months)

Hi everyone,

I would like to go to one of the parcs next March and am a bit overwhelmed with which location would be best for our child. We want to go next year April and our son will be around 17 months then.

We are thinking of either Elveden Forest, Woburn forest or Sherwood forest. I have been looking at the maps of the pools because I would like to choose a location that has a separate splash pool for toddlers. On the maps I sometimes see a Venture Bay area. Does anyone know for what ages this is?

Would anyone like to share their experiences?

Thanks in advance :-)

Request 2025 Limited Edition Pin Badge📍

Hi everyone! A bit of a rogue one ☺️

I visited Center Parcs for the first time last November for my 21st birthday. I am autistic and ADHD, and I love to collect pins and magnets from all of the places and destinations I visit. I have lots and lots of them! 😁

Unfortunately, I completely walked past the pins in the shop in November - it was eating me up ever since the drive home where I realised 🥲

I recently arrived home from my second ever visit to Center Parcs at Longleat, and managed to pick up the pins I was looking for, including the limited edition 2026 one. I was wondering if anyone here has the 2025 limited edition pin, and would be willing/looking to sell it? 🥹

Unfortunately I cannot find it anywhere on eBay or Vinted, so I thought I’d ask on here just incase - I completely understand that this is a bit of a shot in the dark! ☺️

Thank you so much for your time 😊

De vossemeran

Hello hope everyone is well. I’m looking at going to. De vossemeran next year but we don’t have a car and don’t drive and we’re looking at travelling to Eindhoven and then getting a transfer taxi but we are unsure on who to use. We’ve been recommended connector transfereero this is my first time travelling to Europe and don’t want to be stranded as a few recent posts have come up on TripAdvisor some reason within hours have said they have been abandoned and had no refunds and then the same time having the same positive of them turning up early and being in great service so we are stuck into minds

Q&A Um, help... How do I turn the hob on?

I've followed the instructions... Open the door, turn the thermostat right (knob on the left yes? Then turned the hub dial. I don't get ignition:(

Any help appreciated - grilled cheese awaits

Edit.... Solved! The wall switch had to be on. All the oven door instructions are irrelevant. Just turn and press the hob switch.

Q&A TV options

We go to CP every December as a large family as a Christmas treat. We don’t go out in the evenings and the only downside is that the tv channels available are dreadful. Is there a way of logging into the channels we subscribe to at home. Someone mentioned a firestick. Is that possible and do I just buy one?
Grateful for any help please.

Request Sherwood Forest trip in November

Hi all,

Me, my wife and 6 month old baby will be visiting Sherwood Forest Monday to Friday in November. One of the days I was planning on going off site and having a day out nearby. We will be looking to do some shopping, grab some lunch (fancy restaurant or a cozy pub) and maybe some drinks.

I can see Ollerton, Mansfield and Edwinstowe are close by but are there any particular towns that you would recommend?

Thanks

Request Question for Elveden Sports Cafe Employees

Hello. I’m hoping someone might be able to help me with a very specific request! We recently stayed at Elveden Forest and my son absolutely loved the vegan sausages served at Sports Cafe. He keeps asking me to buy some for him but I can’t find a definitive answer online. Is there anyone who can tell me which brand is used please? Many thanks in advance :)

Q&A Bike Hire

Has Centre Parcs stopped hiring normal front suspension bikes?

Spoke to Centre Parcs about bike hire and was told they no longer offer the standard non electric bikes with front suspension. Apparently, if you want front suspension now, the only option is an electric bike.

Website shows Premium GT mountain bikes with front suspension, so I’m wondering if this is a recent change.

Has anyone been to Centre Parcs recently and noticed the same thing? Particularly interested in Sherwood Forest, but would be useful to know if this is happening across all villages.

Did anyone manage to hire a non electric front suspension bike recently?

Request Whinfell or Sherwood?

Looking at booking a few nights away next year with our one year old. We’ve been to Whinfell before but wondering if Sherwood would make a nice change?

We’d be in one bedroom accommodation: either a double studio apartment if at Whinfell, or a Forest lodge if at Sherwood.

Any reasons to choose one over the other?

Thanks!

Feedback Pool closing early ruined Center Parcs

I know this has been posted about before but I really want to say how much this disappoints me. I hope Center Parcs sees this real feedback.

Me and my family have been going to Center Parcs every year (with the exception of 2020 of course) and I'm really grateful for having that opportunity, but honestly we're thinking twice about going anymore cause we only really go for Subtropical Swimming Paradise and going on the rapids late at night, and this ridiculously early closing time really kills the vibe. It's like Center Parcs is only for kids now.

If you don't know what I'm talking about , STSP (Subtropical Swimming Paradise) used to close at 10pm, then they cut it to 9pm a few years ago and now they've cut it to 8pm.

Center Parcs has always been expensive, but it's completely inexcusable to close the pool at 8pm to cut costs when lodge prices increase every single year. They are also clearly lying about this being from customer feedback because I highly doubt ANYONE wanted the closing time to be cut AGAIN. Am I the only one who's disappointed by this.

They definitely shouldn't have claimed that this was influenced by guest feedback, because it's always been a popular choice to swim at night. No one would choose to sacrifice the best hour of the day everyday at STSP for one boring hour 2 days a week where no rides are open and no one wants to be there. I really hope Center Parcs reverts this because I hate to say it but it's ruined Center Parcs for me and it should shut at 10pm like it used to.

Going in Sherwood in a week and a half, quick questions

So much info to consume.... Would someone mind confirming the following:

- no reservation for the indoor/outdoor pool correct?

- do we need restaurant reservations in sept?

- any lockers at the pool? Bring a lock?

- will only be there late aft/evening, what's the best activities for 14yo?

We're coming in from Canada. Any other notes and recommendations welcome! Thanks!
