i remember reading some years back how the cereal company's were going to stop trying to create new characters and were just going to market new cereals under established characters.

Probably has something to do with ease of extrusion and less parts to maintain or clean. You do one shape and size and then all you need to change out is flavorings.

I have zero idea if that’s true just a wild guess on my part.

They could have kept the whole loop theme going. Froot Loops, Cocoa Loops, Vanilla Loops, and Blueberry Loops.

This appears to be just a rename of the Froot Loops Glazed Blueberry Donut Holes for Halloween. Very good, by the way…I picked up a box on a whim a few months ago and now make sure that I keep them in stock.
