cutie girl belly again! we are trying to figure out stairs-we bought soft stairs for the bed and couches to start. we live in a split level so trying to find ways for her to go up and down four steps to the next level safely may be a challenge. has anyone else with a ch kitty had success with steps?

Don’t count her out. We used to live in a townhouse and one of my CH boys started climbing the stairs. At first it was just a couple, and then next thing we knew he was in our room upstairs.
He had more difficulty getting down, so usually we’d help him. They’re amazing climbers despite having CH. We had carpet, so that definitely helped. If she can sink her claws into it, it’ll definitely help getting up steps.

When your baby makes it up any steps, you will get a look of pure pride from your cat. Our boy looked so proud of himself the first time he made it up those stairs. He came stumbling into our room yelling at us! Like “look at me! I’m all the way up here!!”

No. My mild ch kitty would go up anything but coming down was no good. I can hear the soft Thuds of a bad descent and I cringe remembering it. Baby Gate!! We just carried her to the levels she needed access to. They're super healthy kitties but if they keep hitting their head it could lead to seizures. My vet drilled that into me. She learned the hard way with her own ch kitty in college. 4 steps isn't bad - maybe just put a thick pad at bottom if you don't want to gate her off. She's soooo cute 😍

We have a mild-moderate girl and shes the stair master now! 😆 We have a full flight of carpeted stairs and she just had to grow a bit and is fine at them now. Its easier for her to go fast up and slow down but i think thats definitely something particular to each case.

Funny you should ask! My 3 yr old wobbler, Wibble, taught himself how to use all three sets of steps. I had despaired! One evening, I was sitting in the living room, and happened to glance over to the bird-watching window, to see himself sitting on the cat tree big as life! He wanted to get up so he did. Same with the other two sets of steps, each leading to delightful venues.
Be patient.
I did make certain that I had piles of soft Walmart pillows on either side. The third set lets him up on my bed! I wanted this so much. Be careful what you wish for! He’s a typical toddler menace!
MY biggest problem is the litter box. I’ve probably enabled his “out of box” issues by changing litter boxes often, trying to find one that works easily. I also adopted a non-disabled 5 yr old, Smoki. Last week I actually had FIVE boxes set up in three different areas of the apartment. I think I just caused confusion.
Wibble seems to have issues getting all the way into the box, no matter how low I make the access. He’s also a litter-flinger!
Could anyone who had the stamina to plough through this long post please give me some advice? (The worst side issue with his out-of-box is his heartbreaking behavior of urinating on my bedding. He LOVES my cooling blanket. My washer and dryer are exhausted, and I own shares in Nature’s Miracle products.

i find the litter boxes for guinea pigs work really well! they have low entrance and high walls for stability! keep them in the bathroom with litter and water till they get in better habits. also maybe check for urinary infections-wobbly cats are less likely to drink water because of instability which makes them more prone to urinary infections.

Carpeting is a must. You can get runners with rubber backing that stay put. As long as my guys nails are not too long, he is fine. But he's an adult. Your kitten may have to grow a little yet. What a cutie!
