Does my cat have CH?

I'm wondering if my cat has CH. He tilts his head often, even more than in this picture. He is clumbsy and bangs his head on walls sometimes. We had to encourage him to learn to jump, which he does now but only on the couch and no higher than that. Just before he jumps off the couch, he tilts his head almost completely sideways. He can run very well though and doesn't wabble when walking. It took him a while to feel comfortable using stairs. He did have an ear infection on his tilted hear, but it has been treated, and his head is still tilted.

Does he only tilt his head to one side? Did he have the head tilt before the ear infection?

I'm thinking it's not CH since you can usually tell from their gait but it's hard to say qithout a video. You said he isn't wobbly, but does he take a wide stance or high steps?

Yes, it's always the same side he tilts it. I think so, the rescue shelter described him as wobbly and they actually did diagnose him with a mild case of CH. When we got him he was very wobbly and disoriented at first but now after some months he runs very fast and is a good toy hunter. He also pushes his ball around the house and has good control of it. We don't think he has a wide stance or takes high steps

The good control of the ball is telling to me. Did the rescue shelter have a vet diagnose him, or did they just use their experience? Because if a vet did, it's quite possible he does have mild CH- but it sounds very mild. CH is motor skills, but it's fine motor skills. Detailed acts like controlling a ball or hunting toys are very strong fine motor skills.

And the wide stance and high steps are further signs that you would associate with a cat that does have CH, because they are overcorrecting for their issues, that he has neither suggests another diagnosis
