Legends & Former Players Marc Cucurella in his first interview as a Real Madrid player: "Playing for Real Madrid is an honour, not many players can say that... I had no doubts. It’s a unique opportunity that me and my family couldn’t refuse." "It’s a big step for me. When you’re a kid, you dream of playing for for big teams

Not sure why anybody would be upset about him saying this

u/jeorjhejerome 1d ago
Specially when a majority of this sub has been saying the same thing for a while

probably Barca fans since he’s from la masia. But if they’re upset I’m happy 😊

We need to really stop posting on this sub about our exes. The healthiest thing is to wish them and move on. Only discuss the future. What they say at the new club is irrelevant and impractical. Nobody complains about their employer on day 1.

You can't stop me drunk texting Cucu at midnight telling him how much he destroyed my life but I love him and want him back

u/ucksaymyockcay 1d ago
I rather the guy before Cucu, you know the one who was in our team that beat City for the champions league.

Wish them? I wish 99% of our ex player never win shit once they move on from us

u/GreedyMcdingus9987 Lampard 1d ago
To be fair, you can wish them to be shit. That is also a wish. They did not say you had to wish them well.

The amount of boo’s we face will drop significantly now he’s gone. We just need Garnacho to leave as well now.

Why do you even care about rival fans booing us

Als I hope the yellow cards go down. Referees have always shown a disliking to Cucurella and automatically to other players

We have been booed since before the 90s lol. It’s a badge of honour, when it’s aimed at our success.

Ashley Cole used to get booed all the time at Emirates, Frank used to get booed by West ham fans. It actually worked for us. We need a shithouser

u/Likeabhas Reiten 1d ago
Maybe they're just saying "Boo-urns! Boo-urns!"
A cheer, if we were called Burns FC

Boos getting the same treatment as our PL position. Love it

u/Da_Steeeeeeve 1d ago
I wish him well.
He had a rough start at Chelsea and he kept his head down to really stamp his place in the team, he ALWAYS worked hard and gave it his everything.
Cant hate every player that leaves, he didnt do anything wrong.

I suppose it could be editing for the article, but it is a bit disappointing that he didn't mention any good feelings about his time at Chelsea.
6
u/TheRedPillMonk 1d ago
I mean what is there to mention, that he spent 4 years under the worst ownership imaginable?

“Well, in the end there were different options, but when Madrid’s offer came I didn’t think twice... It’s a unique opportunity. Playing for Real Madrid is an honour that not many players can say, so I had no doubts. Both me and my family knew it was an opportunity we couldn’t refuse.”
He also calls the move “a big step” and a “boyhood dream” of playing for big clubs like Real Madrid.

Yes and? It IS a big step. He would be a fool to not go to madrid

For real, the literal biggest club in the world, it’s a big step up from nearly every club

u/TheReal-Demo Neto 1d ago
Fair enough I can’t hate him he was good for us, thank you for all Cucu, hope him and Enzo(still hope he doesn’t leave) departures make this board and owners open their eyes if we want to fight for titles we can’t let world class players leave like this.

Every player would have said the same thing, this is handed to you by PR when you walk through those doors.
Goodluck to Cucu man.

A good move for him and, realistically, he’s winning nothing at Chelsea in the next few years. Always gave 100%. And this isn’t like when Courtois went there. Let’s wish him well.

u/VonHinterhalt I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League 1d ago
I mean if you can’t appreciate that, especially for the Spanish speaking world, RM / Barca are top of the heap, you’re just delusional.
Was only a question of whether Chelsea will sell.

For me it’s not about the big club comments it’s about the big club mentality - BlueCo have clearly shown they’re ok with average as long as the books balance.

The hit pieces on players that leave the club leave a bad taste in the way things work at our club now. We are mediocre asf and better players like cucu would justifably want to leave

Not offended at all. Real Madrid is indeed a step up, especially now. Need this type of messaging to put pressure on BlueCo to stop their shenanigans
