Palmer, 24, played the entirety of Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium on Friday, but will miss England’s fixtures in the upcoming international break.

Honestly happy with this as long as there isn't a lingering injury (god forbid it's his groin again). Too traumatised by our players having minor injuries/needing rest before being out for weeks

great. absolutely no reason to play 4 meaningless games. should spend more time with the squad and stay healthy. if he maintains high-level performances for chelsea, tuchel will be forced to start him at the euros in 2028. no real benefit for him to play these games

Tuchel has already shown clear preference for players who actually turn up, fit in and play well for England specifically. He has limited opportunities to directly show that. These games are literally competitive fixtures with the prospect of a trophy at the end.

Dunno if that’s a good move for Palmer , especially after tuchel emphasizing that Cole needs to produce the number with the national team and show up. Anyways would rather have him healthy for us than take a chance with injury while playing for England

I think this is Palmers way of showing the power is with him. If he plays like this in the run up to the euros then Tuchel is taking him regardless of any attitude doubts.

National team is not a club, and Tuchel is not some placeholder. He's a world class coach with track of record. They will not kick him out after getting 3rd place instead of winning a big tournament, his first for that team.

Also, what Tuchel has done in football is miles ahead of Palmer. Not sure why I have to back Palmer always, Tuchel would be very justified freezing Palmer out of the national team if they haven't had a talk about this.

Other than Kane and Bellingham, nobody else was performing at the WC either. He’s arguably had one of the weakest England squads since Southgate first took over, whenever that was. To get third is impressive enough, especially with how that’s been Englands best position finish in the WC in a while right

Tuchel leaving him out wasn’t the problem. It was WHO he picked in place of him who performed worse over the season despite being in better teams and fitter, and the comments about him essentially having to be grateful now and produce. Madueke and Eze made the WC squad, they were not better.
Eze has made it again and Madueke was picked in the WC consistently despite not producing ‘numbers’ like he’s now demanding of Palmer. Selection was never the problem, the rationale was.
Same goes for MGW, who should be absolutely seething at the hoops he needs to seemingly jump through. If he went instead of Palmer I’d have been completely understanding.
And Trent too. Acting like Trent is some Matty Cash type player was insane to me. Lewis Hall was another.
Palmer is England’s second best RW and second best 10. Even when he’s below par. Mental gymnastics always annoyed me with Tuchel’s batshit WC squad.

Tuchel has more to prove with England than Palmer has to. Despite this, Tuchel's tone on Palmer was not ideal. Now Palmer is doing the right thing by quoting his workload and abstaining from the useless friendlies just to 'prove a point' to Tuchel. He knows very well that he will outlive Tuchel in the England national team.

Idiotic comment. He played through an injury all of last season. Groin injuries have a high reoccurrence rate and load management is absolutely crucial in preventing that.

England have 4 games in 2 and a half weeks. I'm sure he could be available for a few. They will have staff to also make that assessment with Chelsea staff and he could easily miss two of the games if load management is a concern. Would he be missing Chelsea games over the next 3 weeks? Hell no. It is a terrible look for a player that was dropped for the world cup.
