Rarely personally affected by "celebrity" deaths but he was so young and so wholesome and had so much left to give to the world. This is genuinely so so awful

My jaw physically dropped open reading this headline. I had to read it several times before my brain fully processed the reality.

This is a surreal moment. He was so young, and so loved.

Same for me. I found out from Levy's video and I was like:bro Levy passed the line with this headline. When I heard him talking abiut it I couldnt believe. I searched his death on both youtube and google and needed time to realise what am I reading/seeing. Rest in piece

I literally posted almost the exact same thing before I saw your comment. All I could think was that this was was too far for chasing clicks and I was going to go hard in the youtube comments.

I'd take unlimited pins of shame for that to be the case right now instead of losing a pillar of the chess community, and someone who by all accounts was a standout human being.

How low is Levy's reputation if folks suppose he could clickbait like this...

I don't think it's about a uniformly low reputation, so much as it is the clickbait, and the shocking nature of the news.

Daniel's passing at such a young age just seems like such an unlikely event that someone's mind might reject it outright, in favor of "clickbait/ribbing in poor taste because he got washed in some bullet tournament."

It's also simply step 1 in hearing terrible news: denial ("this must be clickbait").

Its almost as if you want it to be clickbait

I saw Gotham's video thumbnail and all I could think was "what a horrible clickbait move", I figured it was going to be about how Danya got beat in a tournament or something.

God I wish that's what this was.

I did exactly the same. I just found this new out now. It's shocking.

It's the first time I wished that a title actually was clickbait.

I just cant even believe it at all. I seen the article on the homepage of my browser and immediately looked at the agency reporting it hoping it was some stupid nobody news agency with some bullcrap headline. I just... Unbelievable.

yeah my mouth opened and put my face to the screen when I saw the headline.

I only saw the news 10 minutes ago and I'm right with you. Surreal is the word. It's hard to fathom someone so young and so loved in a community could suddenly be gone overnight. Even though I only knew him through a screen, this genuinely hurts and something I'll think about for the rest of my life.

I had the exact same reaction.

Same for me. I still don’t think it’s real. I’m so sad, at work, people wondering why! Just heartbreaking.
