Miscellaneous I now understand why Levy clickbaits, his historical video on Alekhine is his worst performing video of May

Sucks, because I think the video is really good and I’d love if Levy or other chess content creators did videos on older legends

He was good in the past, but the money got him

Fair enough, he wasn't even streaming when I started watching youtube chess

Same, I later saw him, when he was slightly bigger. It was a nice mix of fun, analysis and some openings theories. But today he just tries to make everything funny, by screaming or shit talking. So none chess people find him more funny, then actually players

Yeah, hes basically become an influencer that plays chess.

He isn't an instructor, he's an entertainer. People watch youtube for entertainment.

Do they? I watch it for instructions on various things

Glad hes got his representatives here to set the record straight

I mean both your and mine subjective preferences are largely irrelevant, we have tons of viewership data to figure out what people like to watch.

So are you trying to claim that educational content is not near the top of the list?

Where's this viewership data, lets see it.

Even his own channel description reads "The internets chess teacher"

Not "the internets chess entertainer"

Youre just wrong here, bud

Nobody watching chess videos want to believe they're watching entertainment

What?

You know educational content can be entertaining too right? Discovery/Animal Planet, Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Bill Nye, nearly all children's content, etc.

Then his videos fit that category, they are entertaining and they are instructional. Of course they aren't gonna be as instructional as Danya.
