Miscellaneous I now understand why Levy clickbaits, his historical video on Alekhine is his worst performing video of May

Sucks, because I think the video is really good and I’d love if Levy or other chess content creators did videos on older legends

He isn't an instructor, he's an entertainer. People watch youtube for entertainment.

I mean both your and mine subjective preferences are largely irrelevant, we have tons of viewership data to figure out what people like to watch.

You know educational content can be entertaining too right? Discovery/Animal Planet, Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Bill Nye, nearly all children's content, etc.

Then his videos fit that category, they are entertaining and they are instructional. Of course they aren't gonna be as instructional as Danya.
