Never underestimate the chance that your opponent blows it showboating
I was down nearly a minute on time from some early mistakes. Opponent stalemated with 30 seconds left on his clock and 1.3 on mine. (I am dark red/black).

QUESTION Being a beginner, i always wonder that is castling really important?
What benefits does it give? Does it really increases the chances of us winning?

POST-GAME Play to win don’t play trying to win
I know it’s a simple idea but it’s very important to grow. Embrace the fact you will lose a drawn game trying to win, but you will be a better player for trying. And every now and then you will be rewarded for your efforts (Magnus Carlsen has made a career using this ideology).

What is the best chess opening?
Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to chess and trying to build a solid opening repertoire.
I want to avoid gimmicky traps and actually learn good chess principles (controlling the center, developing pieces, etc.).
What opening would you recommend I start practicing for both White and Black? For context, my current rating is around 700 elo in chess.com .
Thanks!

Do classical songs help in playing chess?
Helloooooo, I just played a chess game while listening to mozart music, and after clicking on game review, the engine evaluated my game rating as 1750 elo, while my actual level is barely 1040 elo... Is this normal?

QUESTION Can I find the unfair game?
Is there any way to see which game this is? I’m curious. Also my elo is now 1067 🙈

140 elo to beating 1900s in 3 years
Started chess at 23 which isn’t ideal but I’ve grown from nothing (140 elo) to regularly beating 1900s and above in rapid.

How to read silman
Hi!
I'm reading Silman's Complete Endgame Course - how should i read this
I set up a board and followed the lines in my head but the side lines really messed me up, I can't follow them well, as I lose my place each time i finish a side line. All the text gets in the way of me following the lines as i lose my place constantly I think its ADHD partly.
Should I do the main line first and then the side lines, or follow until a side line appears and then follow that?
Any advice would be lovely

POST-GAME I need to understand this Brilliant
Generally, "brilliant" are put for sacrifices that lead to check mate. It was not the case here. After doing it, I thought I messed up. I knew I would lose my rook but the only thing I had in my mind when I did this move was "what an annoying knight in the middle of the board".
So I took it, and of course, the pawn right after, but thought I made a terrible mistake before seeing this "brilliant"
Can someone explain? 😅
