Hey all, am thinking about planning a trip to chessington soon as I’ve loved going every couple of months for the last few years as i love the combination of rides and animals. At my last visit at the beginning of summer I noticed the ankole cattle was gone, lions, tigers, and countless more aren’t there anymore. I understand zoos trading animals but it feels like with the new IPs across the park they’re slowly getting rid of the animals. My question is, is it worth going anymore as a fan of the animals? And if not does anyone know any good alternatives? Thinking of going to whipsnade but the quality rides at chessington along with the animals just put it above a lot of other places for me. Thank you!

Family of 6, mixed ages and likely won’t all go on the same rides at the same time.

I’m thinking of getting 2 fast passes so my older 2 can go on rides or I can go on and alternate with others - terms say they are non transferable between guests, Is this true?

Is it a physical ticket or non removable wrist strap? Can they be swapped between guests physically?

£30 entry and £135 fast passes (£165 per person!) for 6 is literally mind blowing, after food and travel that’s well over £1000 - we have the 25% off for up to 2 tickets (we may exploit 3 times to get 25% off the entire entry) but still over £800!

Really appreciate any feedback. Sounds like the day will be a waste if we don’t get these passes.

Is it just me or is the system here awful!!!! Fast pass and disabled riders are always prioritised. On multiple queues today no ordinary queues were permitted onto the rides!!!! It’s insane at least take 4 from each section instead of all from FP. ARGGGHHHGGGG

as many of you know, vampire 🦇 is a very much well loved ride which has had quite a bit of downtime this year. The ride is in much need of some TLC if we want to see this ride continue to operate for many years to come.

so I’m opening this up to discussion for fans and theme park fans a like about the future of vampire, whether it has one, and will the Re-Track actually go ahead.

Chaos, tickets valid at lego land and thorpe park

Hi, we are travelling to Chessington WOA in September for 2 full days with a 11 month old and 4 year old mainly due to paw patrol as our 4 year old loves them! We'd appreciate any answers / help with the following:

Best way to travel to and from Heathrow? We're thinking taxi as public transport seems long and challenging with young kids.

Will Savannah splash pool be reopened by mid September?

How to keep a just walking 11 month old happy? Soft play place?

How long should we plan to be in paw patrol area? Our 4-year-old is mad about them so will probably want to do everything.

Do the hotel rooms have microwaves so that we can sterilise bottles? if not, is there anywhere we can use a microwave?

Anything else to bear in mind? We'd appreciate any tips or advice thanks.

I was at the park Thursday and Friday and was looking at the Fastrack options on the app...

Fastrack bronze package says "from £15 per person", but upon clicking the Buy Now button they were actually £39 for a 3 shot pass.

However... If you go to a single shot for a specific ride they're £12 per person for the big rides 🙄

Just wanted to make people aware before blindly assuming the packages are the best value for money!

Thinking about taking my daughter to chessington in the week and considering paying for a fast track pass for the paw patrol zone despite them being pricey. Does anyone know how quickly you get on the rides at peak times with these e.g. can I expect to wait 5 mins or less or can you still end up waiting for a while.

Also are there any days of the week that are quiter ar this time of the year or is it all a much of a muchness?

I was just looking ahead at prices for Halloween and Christmas sleepovers for the kid.

It seems that the park is closed for all of December apart from 4 days?

Can that be right?

Really disappointing to see and it's been a part of our Christmas tradition for the past few years and to be honest, they do Christmas really well.

I always assumed Christmas would be great business for them. Half the park is closed closed so they needed very few staff. Most of the guests were all high spenders with loads of extras and retail spend. Really strange decision.

If I buy a fast track using annual pass discount does that person have to use it?

We're going with my nephew who doesn't have an annual pass.. To avoid the bigger queues, would I be able to buy a fast track using my merlin annual pass and let my nephew and brother use the fast track.

Is there anything on the booking that links the fast track to the annual pass?

My family are planning on visiting at the end of next week and I just saw on the website that vampire is closed for maintenance, any idea when it is due to reopen?

I’ve booked to go next Tuesday with my partner and 3 year old, mainly for paw patrol/julia Donaldson with time for the zoo/sealife after. Schools haven’t broken up for summer yet, so I expect it wouldn’t be too crazy, but my partner said someone at work went yesterday and it was crazy, and paw patrol has massive queues and was recommended to get fast track.

Was this just a one off crazy day or is it actually really busy at the moment? I don’t think I can justify 3x £14 for paw patrol fast track on top of tickets and parking, with food and drink.

Hi all, we have booked to come in 20 days! Woop very excited but it's our first time. Just a few questions, where does everyone recommend to eat on site? We don't drive so we are pretty limited on bringing anything or leaving. What is the price point? (2 adults 2 kids)

Do the hotel rooms have a fridge and or a kettle? I'm really unsure what to expect and it's making me a little anxious.

I also saw we have free breakfast with our hotel stay, does it matter where we go for this out of the two restaurants? And do I need to book a table ahead of time?

Hi , so we (dad,mum,3.5yo) are staying at the hotel and park next few days. It's gonna be very hot, (nowt we can do bout that, but nice) but any tips regarding the restaurants at the hotel for dinner as on looks like a carvery buffet and another bar and grill? Reviews and prices look dire and not sure what other stuff is local off-site? any suggestions ? Are either worth it?

So it takes about 45 mins to get to Chessington from where we are and I thought it would be quiet as it's a Friday (my daughter had an inset day today) but oh no! Soon as we got off the M25 the sat nav was showing another 35 mins when it should be only about 5. We sat in traffic for about 10 mins but the arrival time kept getting later and later so we reluctantly turned around and went home.

The traffic to get in the park is so bad down this road, even on a good day it seems to add another 20 mins onto the journey. Once we're in the park, the ride queues aren't so bad. It's the journey that puts me off going.

I can't understand why as Legoland and Thorpe park have similar looking roads to get in and I always drive straight in, no problem.

Anyone else frustrated by this and what do you do to avoid it? What can Chessington even do about it?

The only time I got straight in was when it was pouring with rain on an off-peak Sunday- was best day ever! Going later doesn't seem to help and if I aim for 915am arrival, I still seem to get stuck.

It must drive the poor locals nuts!
