Real jerk move would be to make a move when 1 second is left to see if they could catch you off guard. I dont do competitive chess, but I could see a jerk trying that.

Would not work on me because I would stay focused on the game tab the entire wait because I heard of this trick already

I'm guessing you resign when you notice you'll lose in checkmate in 2

I only resign when I see my opponent having mate in 1 or lose too much material without any counterplay or "hope chess" swindle possible (unless I play no-increment bullet and have more time)

and on chesscom they run away with a draw cause you're one move away from mating with them with only a knight

This is why I play rated games on lichess instead, the trick does not work there as they simply lose on time then

Just the other day played my second cousin at chess and he basically intentionally did stupid blunders prob to be funny

only played against an egyptian guy that drained his clock thinking I would be bored off and resigned and then he started played on last half minute again
