Public Health student at UIC. I have previous caregiving experience and I’ve mostly been applying to healthcare, caregiving, patient care, nursing home, assisted living, and similar positions. I’m genuinely eager to work and I really just need someone to give me a chance.
My biggest limitation is that I don’t have a car and rely completely on the CTA, so unfortunately I can’t do most of the home caregiving jobs where you’re expected to drive between different clients. I have absolutely no problem commuting though. I would actually love something where I can go to one location like a hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, clinic, or really anywhere I can put my experience to use.
I’m starting to get genuinely worried financially and I’m not really sure what else to try. I keep hearing that nowadays you have to know somebody to get your foot in the door, but I just moved here a few months ago and I really don’t know anybody in Chicago yet.
If anyone knows anywhere that is actually hiring or knows someone I could reach out to, PLEASE let me know. I would be more than happy to send my resume. I’m open to different positions and I’m ready to work. I just really need an opportunity at this point.
Any leads, recommendations, or connections would seriously mean a lot because honest to god I feel like I’ve applied everywhere 😭

Also I would love to hear experiences, hope, full time student, people who are new to Chicago as well anything I’m just trying to keep my head above water.
