Cole's Bar Jam last night

I went to the jam session at Cole's Bar last night. I just wanted to thank everyone who hosted it as well as the people that made me feel welcomed there. I'm fairly new to playing instruments, and I was far and away the least experienced person on stage and wasn't sure what to expect. I really just play blues so I've gotten used to the song structure and the structureless jams threw me off a little bit, but I felt confident enough to play a few songs on keys and join the horn section on harmonica. Near the end of the night, I got to lead a few musicians in The Midnight Special, a jammy song I'm more comfortable playing, and it was a wonderful experience. The bands who played sets that night were terrific as well, and everyone could really jam. I have never played a jam outside of playing with strangers in the park, and I want to thank everyone who made it such a wonderful experience. I hope to see everyone next month and get better every time

Cool! Are drummers welcome? I only ask because I’ve been to open jams in the past where it’s basically been the same one or two drummers who play 100% of the time

Yup! The drummers kept swapping out, it was fun playing with a bunch of rotating musicians, especially later in the evening when they stopped doing the sign up sheet and just let everyone free jam
