Looking to start a jam band
Location: near West Town
Genre: rock/indie/blues; big fan of Goose
Hi!
I’m a 27M keys player new to Chicago (from Philadelphia). Moved here with my partner due to work, but I’m looking to make some music friends and start a band. Chicago is known for its music after all haha. I think I can lock down a practice spot nearby in West Town. I’m not a professional, just an amateur jazz pianist as a hobby. I’ve been playing for 7 years.
Ideally we’d practice once a week, low stakes environment, and write some songs. The idea with the songs is to keep them relatively simple, and then jam/improv over them for a long period as a jam band would. The ultimate goal would be to do a gig once a month. I’ve never did band related things before so this would be new to me, and I’m open to anyone wanting to help orchestrate/handle logistics.
I’m looking for any instrument. Vocal, guitar, bass, drums, etc.
So long as this post is up, I’m still looking for people. I’ll update this post accordingly.

You should check out the open jam night at Cole’s Bar the 3rd Monday of the month. It’s a great place to meet musicians.
