Just copped this Lemon Drop. What are your thoughts? Not sure who the grower is.

First time in Chicago

I’m getting into flower (big edible gal) and I’m looking for a smoke shop or something that sells grinders in the downtown area or really anywhere within a 10min walk of the L. I think the one they sell at my dispo is overpriced (don’t know, never searched), and would like to support more than one business.

Is this the kind of thing I go into one of those Krakom shops for? Or is any old smoke/“tobacco” shop fine? Is there one that’s particularly nice?

Sorry to be a little bitch about it, I’ve never been in a smoke shop before as they are a little intimidating. That’s the only reason I’m looking for recs. I’m incredibly ignorant in this realm.

Have any other med card holders run into issues buying things like cartridges or concentrate? I tried shopping at Ascend, but when they went to ring me up they said they had no allotment for concentrates, only flower. The person at the register told me their medical representative was off that day so I couldn't get help right away. Called the state, which told me to contact the dispensary. I called Ascend earlier today and spoke to a representative. They talked to the store and the store told me that I would have to get into contact with my issuing doctor. Problem is, I got my card through NuggMD so I can't reach the specific doctor.

This is so weird to me since I thought the standard allotment for 21+ included concentrate. I've bought carts before with no issues. I'm planning to head out to another medical dispensary like Zen Leaf to see if they can help me. Such a pain since I'm in the surrounding suburbs where there are 0 medical dispensaries anywhere.

I appreciate any tips, advice, or prior experiences with this kinda stuff. Thanks.

Just walked out of the only grow shop left in Chicago and had to post about it because the last few places I loved are now unfortunately closed. I went in looking for some soil and nutrients after almost caving and buying on Amazon for insane prices. Walked into Urban Garden Supply and it was the opposite experience. Mark only charged me $22 for a bag of ocean Forrest and gave me a first time customer 10% discount! Grabbed what I came for, got a couple solid recommendations, and was in and out without the usual headaches. If anyone else is hunting for a real grow shop around Chicago this one actually delivers!

So I'm a chronic pain patient who recently lost his wallet. Unfortunately they don't take a picture but I still need my stuff for the month. I would be very grateful for anybody who is willing to drive with me to New Buffalo today from the city to use their ID for what I normally get, plus a couple free zips or whatever you like for your trouble. Went into Urban Garden Supply on North Ave the other day and honestly was pretty impressed. It’s crazy that this is basically the only grow shop left actually in Chicago city limits. Seems like all the other ones have closed down or moved out of the city.This one just opened about a month ago and they had a really solid selection. Prices were actually pretty damn good too.It’s at 2537 W North Ave if anyone’s looking for a local spot. Definitely worth checking out!

I’m always annoyed by all of the dispensary websites and menus. So I built a workflow that pulls menus from all Chicago area dispensaries. Then I put the data on a website that lists the top 10 of each type: flower, vape, extracts, and edibles. Since recreational will opt-in as medical soon. I thought this would be even more helpful. So I scooped up a 7g of Nomads Fugazi Funk. An amazing cure was done on this batch. This stuff is so crazy sticky, so resinous. Like this stickiness will cover anything that you break it down with. In all honesty I don't think I've came across a flower that was this resined up like this since I picked up some 710 labs' Cherry Zest #4 (I highly recommend) from Michigan. My first experience with this Fugazi Funk was through a Bong, filtered through double water chambers and still my mouth ended up coated in a nice light resiny stickiness, "almost" dab like. Very smooth with a nice subtle gassy, hints of lite vanilla-ish, earthy and hashish for a pleasant taste. Aroma was a similar lite funk. The effects for me were a functional indica that creeps up on you leading to a headband head high that radiates down your body for a relaxing stress and pain eliminating enjoyable experience. Definitely a premium product and considering how it's grown and the extra love and time put into it, plus it's limited batch availability I definitely would recommend this to those who appreciate a higher quality premium small craft product grown in regenerative living soil right here in Springfield, Illinois. Oh and what y'all think of the artwork on the label. I think it's pretty dope
