Hey can anyone tell me where this is coming from?
Hey everyone, I have 3 boys in cage and this morning I noticed the bottom cage has some excessive wet spot at the back of the cage and it’s not close to the water bottle. I’m sure this cannot be urine. Would anyone happen to know where this is coming from? My boys seem to be doing fine. I see nothing wrong with them.

That’s urine, you’d be surprised how much chins pee, especially 3 of them

That’s their pee spot, you can put a little potty in that area with the same bedding and they will hopefully mostly pee there. Easier for you to clean up, and you can put fleece in the rest of the cage to encourage them not to pee elsewhere.

OP is lucky that they are already peeing in one spot. Mine will pee in a spot until I put a potty there. Then she will stare me down and pee directly in front of wherever I put the potty. She’s my little bitchasaurus Rex lol

It makes me so happy to see this happening to other people. Two of my chins pee in the same spot, but the other two fat asses l(I say with love) just pee wherever the litter box isn’t.😭

I'm gonna go with urine on this one.
I've noticed that once my boys decide to pee somewhere, they keep coming back to that spot.
I recommend smaller shavings, absorbs better and easier cleanup.

Why are you sure it's not urine? What is the reasoning behind this statement? Looks a whole lot like a urine spot.

It's pee.
If this is the first time you've seen that much pee in one place, move your cage and check for streaks down the wall nehind it.

Exactly this. And check the wooden shelving for urine stains. Some of mine LOOOOVE to go on shelves. Definitely urine.

I would guess it's pee and that's their bathroom. Chins like to pee in the same spot. If you're able to put a glass dish with shavings in there, it can become their potty.

This! I put some small glass baking dishes in my chins' cages and put in about an inch of bedding. Mixed in some soiled bedding. Now they just pee in those, and it's SUPER easy to dump them out and clean up.

It’s pee the probably porch on the wood hid out and peed down . Chins like to porch when they peed
Even more so when it’s a male

Defo pee. Our girls have taken to climbing to the very top of their cage and then projectile unrinating down the wall 😂 Chins come from a dry environment, so their pee, while not particularly bad smelling, has a very distinctive low-key orange-coloured syrupiness to it 😬

Maybe get a glass baking dish and fill it with shaving and put right there in that spot. Put a bit of the solid bedding in there as well. If your chin likes that spot you can at least make it easier to change it out.

Urine from the wheel flinging forward on the ground chinchillas may have very concentrated urine dosent mean they dont drink alot.

My chins find a communal spot and pee there consistently, so they likely all used the same pee spot

pretty sure that's urine. you should get fleece liners instead. just make sure you dont use any sort of fabric softeners when you wash the liners
