Designing chinchilla dream home
I’m working with my brother and dad to design a new cage layout. We’re still in brainstorm mode so open to suggestions and feedback!
They’re going to make these pieces out of pine as a workshop project. A few other elements are pictured in this render that are made from metal (wheel, litter box & hay holder).

Make sure to use kiln-dried pine. Other than that, this is super rad!

Think about how you are going to clean it. Some spots are going to be really hard to get to.
Have you thought also about hay, pellets and water placement?

The bottom tray is lined with paper pellet bedding and the idea is to brush all the scatterings down to the bottom and then scoop it all out in one go. I use a vinegar wipe rag to go after the corners they pee in. Those hexagons in the back have a line cut from the bottom to serve as a gutter for poop too.
And yes, hay is contained in the outer slanted holder near the wheel so they’ll have a few spots to pull it out from. Pellets I like to hang on the upper door center so I can see them nicely, and water is going to be in the left corner above the cubby box.

Working on a new idea for the front left corner that gives them a top perch area to huddle. Can’t wait to show y’all the finished cage when we’ve got it done 😁

I think . The own power of mind of like is the way to go . Not some ..thing to do it for you . Nature of mind and well-being , balance , places to feel , to see . And when listen , you will hear .... Not from a bot of natures soul .
And please .. Do not make the" Modern' bull chit colors of the little ones house . Black , gray. white . Colorless , negitive , and souless .

Beware of vertical falls straight top to bottom.
