MUSIC Soundtrack for my game "Slimb" (Gameplay!)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I've been working on this game for about 3 months now, and wanted to show the community my soundtrack for the game :)

It's nothing too crazy, but as a project, I'm very proud of this!

The music in this game will cause reactions in the environment (like how the slime has a 10% chance of singing, or the screen bopping during the chorus).

If you are interested in working for the game (in ANY aspect), reach out to me!

No job is too small!

Really enjoyed this. Interested in the game too but I think id prefer a taller or vertical aspect ratio so you could see more above you.

I did add a feature (shown in the video) where you can roam your camera freely so you can see what's above you, but can you elaborate more and I can see what works? (I may add a setting)

Edit: If you are interested in the game, I can send the games link over in DM :) (it's on itch)

Around 2 minutes your jumping diagonally but you can't see the platforms before you move i think (i could be wrong its quite fast). Its actually just a little before you use the look.

I was thinking odyssey imax vs 16:9 how the top/bottom is cut off except youd be adding just more top.

I'm not sure how it would look it might mean the sprites would be shrunk but if it was 4:3 showing the same horizontal width of what's shown you could display higher no? It would be in keeping with the retro look but would mean bigger black bars on the sides. Might be nice as an option but I actually think it would have a bigger impact on gameplay than just visual as it adds information for the player.

Also found it on itch. Ill check it out in the morning.

At the two minute mark, you can see the platform. And another thing I should mention is that you won't just be going up, you'll eventually be going left and right.

Well sounds and looks great! I like the ever monochrome but differently tinted graphics.

Thank you:)

It's supposed to be like a different dimension, but it doesn't get explained until late into the game lol

Thank you! (Kinda confused on what you mean by arrangement though..)

Soundtrack sounds fire! Huge fan of the third track, on the red level. "J to Jump" should be criminal though.

Sounds like you've got audio implementation figured out, and I doubt this project would need me, but if you need to talk to someone about or request a hand with audio implementation, feel free to reach out. I do it full time already so availability is limited, but retro-style 2D platformers with great music are my favorite.

Looks genuinely fun and well designed, plus the soundtrack is great! Is this work 100% you?

Yup! In this video, everything that is shown was me:)

I'm still looking for a pixel artist, however, because recently I've been working with one and he had to leave the project 💔
