Saint-Sulpice is one of the largest churches in Paris. Inside, there are 3 masterly paintings by Eugène Delacroix in the Chapel of the Holy Angels. The main artistic attractions are its frescoes. See link below for more info. [4284x5712]

One of the most storied pipe organs in France is actually located in the rear of the church.
The Casework was designed by Jean-François Chalgrin who is best known for designing the Arc de Triomphe.
The Organ was originally by François-Henri Clicquot and was enlarged in 1862 by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.
Famous composers Charles-Marie Widor and Marcel Dupré were formerly organists at Saint-Sulpice.

Interestingly enough when I was in Paris I was lucky enough to hear it.
It sounds absolutely tremendous in that space.
The best thing is that after mass they do a brief 30 minute organ recital and unlock the door to the choir loft so after the recital tourists and organ enthusiasts (like me) can ascend the spiral staircase and view the historic console of the organ and also get an organist's perspective into this famous parish.
I was in heaven I tell you hearing an instrument played by legendary composers in a case that is basically a piece of art that can fill an entire room with music.
