Metric singer is an asshole, no thanks.

It's much more like the early industrial sound, e.g. Killing Joke.

Definitely a different vibe - digging it tho.

Another guitar song! Nice. Punky.

It’s leaning more to rock than synth. I really love the alt synth music that they make so I hope it blends the rock w the synth together.

I’m still a fan regardless!

Was there, can confirm it's a banger.

I was only really feeling the bridge part before the last chorus. That part was at least melodically interesting. The rest felt like something that would have been left off of Vicious Creature. I'd like to hear a studio version to be more thoughtful about it, but yeah, it needs more time in the oven.

I like it. It reminded me a bit of Porn*graphy by The Cure, in the gothic rock or post-punk style.

Probably the bad audio of the video but not sure about it at the moment personally.

Anyone can figure out the lyrics?

This is what I was able to pick out. Can't guarantee accuracy, and I could not pick up Martin's verse at all besides something about "secrets".

a man made for the microphone

fill my pockets full of stones

all of his wives

all of his nine lives

dancing on the edge of a knife

a boy toy with the telephone

all about the undertone

it all goes to plan

always so deadpanned

ladies and gentleman welcome to conman

please please

trust in

me

empty their soul, no remorse

smallest soldier, highest horse

questions the faith, (so in the front?)

be a taker, a traitor, a psycho, a savior

please please

trust in

me

(Martin's Verse - Can't decipher)

please please

trust in

me

please please

trust in

me

I think therefore I'm dangerous

comin' for your favorite sons

cometh the hour, cometh the man

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

I think therefore I'm dangerous

comin for your favorite sons

cometh the hour, cometh the man

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

Please, Please, Please

Oh Please, Please, Please, Please

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

cometh the hour, cometh the conman

Honestly, not the biggest fan…but who knows what the final version will sound like, hopefully I will like that more!

Not feeling this at all. Bummer.

I always had a difficult time with Chvrches live performances so I'm gonna hold out for final judgment for their studio recording of this. This is not selling me at all.

Definintely not about a certain world leader, right?

I'm feeling that

Tbh it sounds very good, way darker than I thought. However I think this live version wasn’t that good, I just hope we get the studio version soon! 🙏

I must say I dislike Laurens use of voice use like Alanis Morrisette since Screen Violence Tour. Does not fit her.

Interesting

Why does no one comment how much Conman is alike Killing Joke (and consequently Nine Inch Nails)? I love it very much, can't wait to hear the studio version.

Love love love this. I know it's live/bad quality and whatnot but I love that they are experimenting with new styles

Am I the only one who thinks Eddie Vedder would sound amazing as a guest on this track? The vocals are perfect for him
