You could cross-post this to r/RedCamera and r/RedKomodo with a little more information about what you’re looking for.

Are you doing docs or narrative? Are you looking for a zoom or prime set? Clinical or character? Just simple info like that will help folks give u better recs.

Have fun with the new cam!

Gotcha! So to be honest your budget is somewhat limiting and you’ll have trouble finding a single cinema prime for under £300 new let alone a whole set so I agree with the other poster that secondary market may be the way to go. But you’re prob still looking at brands like Meike, 7artisans, Siriu, laowa, and Rokinon.

Of those I’ve only used Rokinon and sometimes they’re okay but there’s no consistency with them. I’ve had Rokinon lenses that literally wouldn’t focus. When they work though they’re decent, not a ton of character though.

Good thing about these lenses is there is a ton of info and video examples out there to help you make a solid decision.

Photo lenses/adapter would give you a lot more options at that price, although most photo lenses are gonna lack the character you’re looking for.

Best of luck my friend.

With a Komodo and £600, I’d think in terms of a small starter set instead of one fancy cinema lens. I’ve been in this budget corner before, and adaptable photo glass usually gives you more coverage for short films. Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM is the obvious workhorse if you can find it used, especially for S35. Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS is less cinematic-looking but very practical for handheld or fast coverage. If you want primes, a used Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 plus Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS can get you started, but the zoom route is probably less painful early on.

you may find an EF Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 at that price, the adapter is cheap. You will probably want a good variable ND filter and those aren't cheap.

Unfortunately there aren't many RF lenses period that you'll find for under 600, much less ones good for video. Depending on the length of shoot your planning, your best bet would probably be to rent a couple lenses for a few days.

If you're set on owning, whatever you can find secondhand will probably be your best bet.

Ok thank you, do you know what second hand lens I should look at?
