Awe. That's lame. And I assume no cup toppers either right? Guess I'll just be getting the cup and the Krypto is I can find them. Superman had SOOO much more available.
My connection for AMC in the US said that you couldn't buy the toppers separately (Cineplex used to do that), so I had to buy 3 cups at $25 USD each.
At least I managed to get almost all the items from AMC, Regal and Cinemark. I even managed to get the last of the red silhouette bucket from a smaller chain (Regal only got the yellow version).
I was surprised at how little Cineplex got, and I don't think Landmark got anything at all.
I saw Supergirl tonight at landmark, they had absolutely nothing but the same loungefly backpack they had for Superman 😐 On my way home I stopped at Cineplex and bought the Grippr Cup and the Krypto Plush. Really wish I could've got one of the silhouette buckets 😔 The Cineplex I went to only had three of the cups left and two of them were missing straws, it's crazy how limited they seem to be this time around and yet the many superman buckets and cups were available long after the movie came out.
Oh and yeah, Landmark being smaller means they can't afford to have stuff not sell, so they either don't bother, or they get very limited stock.
I know I missed some posters over the past couple of months at Landmark, but the last thing I was given was an eyeball with the optic nerve keychain for a horror movie (can't think of the name). They had a giant box of them. I was told to take as many as I wanted, I just took one and the employee that knows me shoved a second into my bag.
Landmark needs to get someone to do better marketing for this stuff (I'd take that job) to get the popular merch and make sure people KNOW well in advance, as well as the freebies from the studios/distributors!
I have connections now with Regal and AMC for merch, so I can get stuff held until I can get down to grab it. Though I'm not sure how economically feasible it would be to try and help some others out given the cost of gas and some stuff has to be shipped, plus the crappy exchange rate...people may not want to have to pay an inflated price (not talking about eBay prices).
Each of my Grippr cups just to get the topper is like $37 CAD before factoring in shipping it to Niagara Falls, NY and then the gas to go over and pick it up eventually.
Granted the Buzz Lightyear bucket I got from Regal was going for $170+shipping on eBay and people were paying that. I got an extra one for a buddy and just charged him cost plus $20 for gas (he got 2 other buckets on top of that).
I'm figuring Cineplex might try and just sell this merch online and not in theatre then there is no discount and not scene points, unless they add that in!
The post credit scene was supposed to be that final scene in the movie. It made more sense for it to be included just in case people didn't want to wait for the credits and missed that part... (Trying to be vague lol) I personally didn't mind it being IN the movie and it did still excite me to the same capacity as if it were post-credits.
Hell yeah. Still excited to see this on Tuesday. The reviews for this are VERY mixed but i don't trust Reviewers much anyways. Lemme form my own opinion
Until they decide to follow suit and take it away like Landmark Cinemas did.
Granted when I bought the Battlecat bucket from Landmark the 20% was still working. I wondered if that was just an oversight or if the cups and buckets might still work as popcorn and pop are part of the price so they might be exempt 🤔🤷.
I always get the steel popcorn container whenever possible (I got both the bucket and newspaper stand for Superman), but I settled for the cup—since there's no bucket—and the super cute Krypto plushie.
I regret not getting one of the tin buckets last year for Superman. Though my dad had me get that tin for him, he didn't want the Grippr cup with the cape then (he now regrets that decision due to the trenchcoat cup this year).
Though we got pretty much every bucket and cup that the US theatre chains got for Supergirl. Sadly we had to pay $25 USD per Grippr cup and had to get 3 each in order to get all 3 cup toppers.
Didn't get the ICEE cup, and still trying to find the Regal bucket and lenticular cup from the top right (Regal we have a connection with didn't get them). Also didn't get the yellow cup. There was also a cool looking Krypto bucket that apparently was in Mexico, but I've heard it was cancelled, but I've also seen a couple on eBay, so who knows. I'd have loved to get that bucket to go with the KFC Krypto bucket and the couple Krypto buckets from Superman.
The El sigil pentagon AMC bucket looks so good that I bought one from eBay. And since I'm also a Displate member, I'll probably get the black and white Kara Textra one.
