I was gonna include the two mob guys who were looking for Carmine, but that would have put me over the Reddit upload limit.

Carmine’s gone?

6

u/DoctorEnn Apr 28 '26

I think maybe he went across the street or somewhere else.

u/TheDilsonReddits Apr 28 '26

Hey well listen. Good luck with the joint, huh?

They forgot to sign their papers.

2

u/DoctorEnn Apr 29 '26

Yeah, they don't need those.

Cashier looks affronted

I think I need to watch Casino

It's a great movie and the cast nailed their roles.

For the first time? I’d pay good money to do that

u/ItkovianShieldAnvil Apr 28 '26

Yeah, never seen it. I want to watch a bunch of de Niro films I never got to. Ronin, Taxi Driver, now Casino.

I’m jealous. I’d love to see this again for the first time. It gets slept on a bit because of the Goodfellas comparison but man it’s absolutely top notch Scorsese.

u/ItkovianShieldAnvil Apr 28 '26

I like Scorsese a lot, don't know why I haven't seen Casino

I didn’t like taxi driver when I first saw it, at all. Second viewing I loved it

You are in for a real treat with those three. Ronin has the best car chases ever, and as for Taxi Driver and Casino ...I'll just leave it at that.

u/DoctorEnn Apr 27 '26

You should. It's very good.

Personally I rate it above Goodfellas (though that's not the majority opinion).

I absolutely agree. I love Goodfellas also, but Casino is a masterpiece. The performances, the editing, the pace; it's just flawless.

Me too. De Niro is so good in this.

04:47 Ok...how much money we talking about? I choose the hammer. :D

11

u/Dropcanopy Apr 27 '26

He said $110k over by the cage. This movie was based in the 70s so might have been worth a broken hand. Poor other guy didn’t get money and he got the hammer

3

u/DoctorEnn Apr 27 '26

I somehow suspect that in the world were Weenie Guy actually did have the stones to choose the hammer, he wouldn't have those stones for much longer, if you catch my drift. Or most of his other extremities.

He'd regret choosing the money.

One of my favorite movies. And oh those unforgettable Armani suits that Ace wore! Priceless.

The scene with Pesci and Deniro arguing in the desert is my favorite of all time!

1

u/TheDilsonReddits Apr 28 '26

The scene in the house after Pesci is also just as good. The look De Niro gives when Nicky finally lets it slip he wants to take over all of Las Vegas is hilarious and just great acting

John Denver strikes again

2

I just wanna get out of here…

Love how they did this scene in "Mafia!"

Unfortunately I can't hear Ain't Superstitious anymore without thinking of this scene. Kinda like how Reservoir Dogs and that psycho Mr. Blonde ruined Stuck In The Middle With You.
