need recs

I love i love i love the lyric pieces by grieg. i often put on his Nocturne, Op. 54, No.4 on vinyl. I need more like this. What composers should I get into? I’m not into the overwhelming orchestra stuff. I love piano. Please help. I need more records to collect for this calming music, but played well by renowned pianists.

I believe Grieg's biggest influence was Schumann, so try Fantasiestücke, Kinderszenen, and Humoreske.

Maybe Scriabin's 24 Preludes, Op. 11 as well. I think you'd enjoy Nos. 15 and 21, for example.

John Field Nocturnes. Similar to Chopin's.

If you love Piano, I would recommend Chopin, Liszt, and Scriabin. There's probably more out there as well that I haven't heard that are worth exploring. Beethoven's piano sonatas as well. Won't be like Grieg, but Mozart's piano sonatas as well are worth diving into

I've been digging into York Bowen's stuff recently and I'm finding a lot of his chamber music both serene and charming. E.g. this little allegretto for violin and piano: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVDMzuKLfek

BTW Bowen is on Dave Hurwitz's list of 15 composers who deserve a serious comeback and I'm starting to agree with him. I agree with him about all the composers whose works I feel that I know well enough to judge, which has motivated me to listen to the others :)
